Re: Cobalt raq3i

I am afraid not. There is a small hole in the front that accepts a bent paperclip to reset the admin password. The raq2 manual has some screen-shots of the server management interface that might help to access the server settings. Although support was dropped a long time ago, it's hard to believe t...

Re: Best workstation to start with?

Hamie old chap I expected nothing less, BUT!! I agree with Classic on this regarding the o2, because the o2 is positioned as an easy starter. Yes they are brittle, yes they don't start up sometimes (see my previous rants), but nor doe does the Octane which also act like a wife who you've upset for ...

Re: Best workstation to start with?

I'll repeat what I've always said: IMHO, the O2 is the most convenient introduction to the SGI platform. It has drawbacks - delicate skins, flaky CD-ROM drives and memory, and pedestrian performance. But those are far outweighed by the fact that you can use it with a thrift store kbd/mouse/monitor,...

I think it has an XSGi[?] or similar, I can't really recall, but that door does look gorgeous.

WOW that's quite a pricy piece of hardware! If that's a decent price, then I would hate to see a not so decent price! Just being facetious. :D UUNIX, If this is a fair price for this card and you still have yours, the you can sell it to fund your TEZRO! :D After looking around and seeing what peopl...
