I did the mod on a 6.5.25 Octane, worked fine. I think you may indeed have somehow mussed the edit.

Remenber that IP30 (octane) and IP27 (O200) have DIFFERENT files and the PCI ids are in different locatrions!

Multiplatform development (IRIX and Loonix)

We are developing a GUI control application, and I would like it to compile and run on an IRIX box and a Linux machine as well. (RedHat, probally Fedora or ES/WS.) This will actually be replacing a wintel product, so we are going a step up here. I want to provide IRIX as the high-end. I belive GTK w...

An yone have a CURRENT SGI pricelist?

It's sad to say, but I don't want to hassle with some joker sales rep, I just want ballpark prices to see if an Onyx350 is viable.

I don't need anyone to shine my shoes for $1,000/hr, just a simple list of configured system prices, that should be posted online like EVERY OTHER computer maker :P

OCTANE PCI card cage odd compatability things.

Does anyone else run this exact configuration?: Atelon ACEnic 1000BaseSX Gigabit Ethernet Qlogic QLA2200F 33mhz/64bit PCI Fibre Channel Adaptec 4300 (red board) IEEE1394 card. Any TWO of these cards in the PCI cage work great, but when I put all 3 in, in any order, I get low-level crashes as soon as...

Gigabit Ethernet PCI (Atelon ACEnic) tales

Allright, I ordered up a used Atelon 1000BaseSX card, actually, 4 of them. I ploped the first one in my O200, power it on, and BAM! Hinv finds it instantly, and I run ifconfig -eg1 up and it's up! Woah! I must have gotten a SGI firmwared card by sure luck? You decide. Note the vendor ID is 4265 (sgi...

Well!

After about 24 hours of contineously playing a uncompressed YUV file 6GB in size with my custom player, I have decided that the problem is not native to the IRIX/DM10, but something as a result of mediaplayer's seeking around and/or using directIO in 'play every frame' mode.
