I remember doing quite a bit of reading on the subject before deciding to get a new one and before installing the replacement. $150- every year or so is a steep price to pay. I ge...

Yeah, do you want to know what distro's work on mac? or are you talking about userland stuff? Im using ubuntu 5.04 for mac. So I need downloads that will work with it. Well, you don't really "download" software for Ubuntu - it's debain based, so you use the debian package manager, apt-get, to insta...

I'm not sure what's funnner - the skit, or the fact that the skit is totaly true. First off, I think Linux on the desktop has caught up with Windows years ago, and now we are really seeing some innovative things... that MS will surely copy on Longhorn, then claim them as new and revolutionary, and c...

I'm starting to feel very confident in the 12" iBook. I was worried about feeling that I cheaped out buying the ibook instead of the powebook but when powerbook users tells me to spend my money more wisely it's pretty clear what I want. Thanks alot for all your input. This is how I look at this iss...

I feel obliged to recommend gentoo as it is the only linux I use(d). http://www.gentoo.org You compile everything on the fly, which means you can optimize for your cpu and avoid the bloat of other distros. There is also a very supportive forum community, not quite as learned as nekochan, but always...

Well, I still haven't paid the guy...check out his recently completed sales. 8 or more MDD's for sale all with the same "copied off a website" specs and the same pic. That might be ok if he just happened to have a bunch and didn't want to take pics of them all, but he also listed a dual 2GHz and du...

....I was going to download the vista beta but i think i'll wait till beta2 comes out. We loaded Vista (or longhorn, or whatever..) onto an X2 4400 / PCI-E system at work last week, and I was not impressed - the interface is basically XP with additional menus for navigation and useless transparency...
