Re: What next?

Congrats, I made the jump to Apple a few years ago and can't imagine using anything else. A few apps no-one else has mentioned: - Emacs a must have http://emacs-app.sourceforge.net/ Most OS X users at my place of work prefer Carbon Emacs: http://homepage.mac.com/zenitani/emacs-e.html

Re: FS: Octane2 R12k 400 MHz, 1.5gb, vpro v6, 9gb

Hello all, I have an Octane2 that really needs a new home. I don't use either of my two much anymore, so at least one has to go. It's a R12000 400 MHz with 1.5gb of memory, 9gb system drive with a pretty clean IRIX 6.5 install, no root password. Graphics are VPro V6. Carbon keyboard and mouse to go...

Re: Video card fan

I've got an old GeForce2 titanium here and it has a fan on it. I'm not using this computer for gaming anymore and I would like to unplug this fan so it makes less noise - the noise from this computer is driving me insane. (I prefer my dead silent Mac Mini but sometimes I have to do stuff in Windows...

Re: Dual Monitors on Ubuntu

In the last 10 years, I had 2 Video cards fail, both of them nVidia, and both of them top-tier ASUS. Strange that you mention this - I've seen at least two dozen "high-end" Asus video boards fail in the last 4-5 years. In fact, I don't even recommend Asus products anymore, except for the ...
