BOINC / SETI@home

Did they pull the plug or am I doing something wrong? I'm using version 5.4.9. 2010-01-19 18:55:00 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 2010-01-19 18:55:00 [SETI@home] Reason: Requested by user 2010-01-19 18:55:00 [SETI@home] Requesting 138240 second...

Re: Onyx2 Deskside / Quad 350's / 8GB / IR2E / DG8 / DIVO / etc.

Amazingly the Onyx2 and all the displays were plugged into the same socket, and the breaker never tripped. The heat wasn't too bad with the ceiling fan going. That room is supposedly the "dining room", but it's nowhere near big enough for a standard dining room table. So it's become a sitt...

Re: Avatar

We saw the Dolby 3D version today, and it was pretty good overall. This is going to sound really lame, what struck me the most is the HD picture quality. I don't go to the movies that often (last one I saw in the theater was Dark Knight), so it was a bit of a wow moment to not see any of the usual s...

Re: Posted a YouTube video on my ThinkPad 755CD

I got a Sony HD camcorder for Christmas and put it to use making a video about my old ThinkPad 755CD . Ideally I'd like to start making a series of 5-10 minute videos each showcasing a piece of old hardware or software. After the Color Classic, I'd like to make a video about the O2. I really don't ...

I had a Red Bull with dinner, and that's what started all this. Updated 'hinv'... Did you really ? Because SGI does it the other way 'round, bottom to top :D

But see, Hamei, my Origin is special.

Re: Origin 3X00 L2 Controller

I'd find that especially useful in, say, 512-CPU systems. ;) Seen his gallery photos ? - don't look like 87Porsche is far from that many...... I'm preparing to bring another rack downstairs and put a P-Brick in the middle of it. That bumps it up to 64 CPU's / 64GB MEM. And then possibly a 3rd rack ...

Re: Origin 3X00 L2 Controller

So here's another question... Performance Graphs? Was this part of a newer firmware release? I'm on 1.32.4 right now, and it doesn't have any of those four buttons on the right. http://techpubs.sgi.com/library/dynaweb_docs/hdwr/SGI_EndUser/books/Origin_3K_OG/sgi_html/figures/s01.new.gif

Nevermind. I got it. I needed to to a 'reboot_l2'. Re: Origin 3X00 L2 Controller

I've tried that based on what I found in techpubs. Originally the L2 didn't have an IP, so I gave it one and restarted all the L1's. Now if you enter the 'ip' command it shows the IP I gave it, but not in the config listing. Also the 'brick rack' and 'brick slot' commands still only respond to the 1...

Origin 3X00 L2 Controller

I've renumbered all the bricks and the L2 in my Origin rack because the original numbers were all over the place. Now they simply go 1 to 11, top to bottom. How exactly do I change the IP address (10.17.177.108)? The closest thing in techpubs I've found is changing the L2's IP if it's plugged into a...

Re: What flight simulator software is this?

Yep, that's the A10 demo. I haven't tried them in a while but I could only get about half of the Octane2 demos to work. Still like to get my hands on an Onyx2 Demo CD. On a side note, I did pick up an obscenely cheap GE16-4, which looks like it will allow me to run 8 monitors. I've got a few SOG LCD...

Any pics?

My friend had an S2 for a while. That thing was fast.

When was the last time the belts/pumps were done on them?
