Re: Line Conditioning/Surge Suppression for Big Iron

I've got meter-based surge protection that the local power company installed. That and turning the breaker off when it's not in use is the only Origin3K protection I have. The 110v jumper / UPS idea might be the way to go. Two UPS's on two separate outlets that aren't on the same 15A breaker, and th...

Re: Konqueror

So, the new Indigo2 is up and running beautifully, and after experiencing the pain that is Firefox/SeaMonkey rendering complex pages, I thought I'd try Konqueror. So... why does anyone use any other browser on IRIX? It's not perfect, but way faster than the alternatives, at least on my system. One ...

Has anyone seen this yet? The Third & The Seventh. http://www.vimeo.com/7809605 . Blocked in China. These people have gone insane. They think they are going to be a world power - yeah right. With six year olds running the country. Here's a link to a 900MB .MP4 file of it. You should have it in ...

Re: BOINC / SETI@home

I uninstalled everything and started over... Now it works.

client_state shows 32 CPU's, but boinc_client is only using 8. Any ideas? I didn't see any boinc_client or boinc_cmd switches to force a cpu quantity.

Re: BOINC / SETI@home

I've restarted, attached, detached, updated, etc. I changed <platform_name>mips-sgi-irix</platform_name> in client_state.xml with anonymous, but then it reverts back to when boinc_client is restarted. Also, could you please post the contents of your app_info.xml file? I'm wondering if I have somethi...
