Re: The new iPhone...

I've had an iPhone 4S for almost a week now. I'm kicking myself for not going the iPhone 4 route this time last year when I converted from 6+ years with a BlackBerry over to Android. I had a Samsung Epic 4G, which had an amazing display, physical keyboard and a decent camera. It ran Android 2.1 orig...

Re: Tube Headphone Amps.

An equalizer and mixing board is certainly an interesting alternative... But a little beyond of what I'm shooting for. However, the ability to tune the sound is very appealing and one thing I wish the dedicated amps could do. Now you got me thinking. That's never good.

Tube Headphone Amps.

Does anyone here use a tube headphone amp? If so, what do you have? Likes/dislikes/headphones used, etc...

I've been using an iPod classic connected to a Practical Devices XM4 amp via LOD cable. It works and sounds great, but the tubes are calling my name.

The State of Kansas would like to formally apologize for I-70. But at least I-70 in Colorado makes up for it.

Re: FS Onyx350 + V10 graphics

Shadowless, I've sold and traded several items over the years with Doug Mashek and have never had an issue. As long as your item works, you will get paid. He's not going to try and flee the country with your Onyx. He's an established reseller who's been in business for many years, and you're a semi-...

Re: Display Maya 6.5 Render Times

If you're using Maya's renderer, then start Maya in a shell instead of with the icon. It will display all the details about the render time in the shell. If you're using Mental Ray's renderer, you have to do a batch render and then open the /maya/mayaRenderLog.txt file to see the render time. It wil...

Re: WHat do we all do (occupation)?

@87porsche, all of the printing houses i'm aware of run on macs for reasons of colour consistency, is windows ok for such a job? (not joking, genuine puzzlement) Workflow modifications aside, we could easily get away with running Windows instead of Macs in our art department. It's just a matter of ...

Re: WHat do we all do (occupation)?

When I was young I wanted to be Han Solo. That didn't work out. Instead I'm the lone IT guy for a family owned (not mine) printing company that was founded in 1896. I've been there for twelve years now. I have 15 servers and 60+ workstations running the usual array of Microsoft products, in addition...

CADDuo in an I-Brick

Has anyone ever used a CADDuo card in an Onyx/Origin 3X00 I-Brick? Or maybe a USB to PS/2 adapter? Or any other way to use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse instead of USB?

Re: Fuel PSU part numbers.

Yeah that seemed kinda odd. It's the first time I've ever paid attention as to what brand it was. Yeah - its almost enough to revive speculation that an EPS power supply from a PC could be rewired to work <maybe even a Sparkle ;)>. If you have the chance a few close up photos of the label, interior...

Coincidentally, my cousin posted this and the link on his FB status earlier today. He works for the State Department and is currently in Iraq, yet again. "R&R Plan in 10 days ---- Airfare: check; bus schedule: check; hostels: check; week-long hiking route in beautiful Chilean Patagonia: che...
