IRIX and Asterisk?

Anyone have experience building Asterisk on IRIX? Possible to do it with MIPSpro or should I just stick with GCC? We're considering running a PBX/VoIP for a small office (7 people) and I have a bunch of unused SGI hardware which might do the trick. Does anyone have an idea of the type of system requ...

Re: SGI bag

It's hard to tell from just one photo, but that might be an Indigo2 bag.

Got any more pictures?

Re: Name my machine.

I have a black heavy IBM workstation and I have named it Raven. Ever see one in real life? They're much bigger than you'd think. If you don't like Raven you could try Crow, Jackdaw, Rook, Corvus, Hugin, Muninn, or Totem. I'll leave the references as an exercise to the reader. My Indy's are all named...

Re: Moving to Onyx2 Deskside from Octane 2...a couple of questio

The software that I want to use on the Onyx2 was killed by Avid during mid testing on the Onyx2 platform, but was working and there was one setup in production(!). This was about the same time as when the Octane2 was the new kid on the block, You're not talking about the unreleased Avid Spectrum ar...

Re: How do you manage your network?

I have 3 computers, all on static IPs. I'm editing host files at the moment but I'd be interested in playing around with DNS. I have an ADSL router which can do DHCP & DNS forwarding.

Hey, Neko, what DNS server software do you use?

I'll be damned, the Octane2 uses a NIC as well, should be easy as pie to swap a license between an Octane/2 and an Origin/200/2000/Onxy2.

See tecpubs.

Re: Moving to Onyx2 Deskside from Octane 2...a couple of questio

From techpubs: number in a can (NIC) A device mounted on a circuit board that contains information such as the serial number of the board and other information. In Origin200 systems, the NIC mounted on the module system controller of the master CPU module contains the system serial number. This is a...

Re: Well this is _sort of_ SGI hardware related

This is the original thread the OP mentioned.

I guess it looks like I pay $0.21-$0.22 per KWH:

ConEd Power Bill

I haven't really been using the Onyx2 agressively, it's mostly idle, I just don't like to cycle the power. Wonder what the bill would do if I set up Einstein@Home or something similar

Re: Moving to Onyx2 Deskside from Octane 2...a couple of questio

what do you mean "wrong question"? I think he means it is the wrong question to be asking on this forum. The rules above don't explicitly state it, but asking about any aspect of licensing is not really tolerated due to potential legal ramifications for the forum operator. ? Any posts con...

Re: Onyx2 4xR10000 @ 250MHz, IR1, 3GB RAM, IR2E (GE16/RM9/DG5-2)

Well according to my budget, last year I spent $87 on elec/gas for the same month, sans Onyx2. I don't remember if I was running the air conditioner laster year during June ... I think I must have been. Anyway, the air conditioner was new last year, an 8,000BTU Frigidaire model and I try to run it i...

I just got my first power bill and wow .... $250/month to run an Onyx2 and an air conditioner part time! I might have to rethink this hobby.

Re: [ebay] NEW!! Sony GDM-FW9011 w/SGI badge and original box

1920x1200 @ 72Hz must really hurt at this size! I get on quite well. I have an older granite 24" GDM-90W11 and a newer charcoal 21" GDM-5021PT. I run 1920x1200 and 1600x1200 (3520x1200 combined) and I don't think I'd ever want to go to a config with fewer pixels. I'm working on getting on...

Re: recent ver of irix / IRIX 6.5.30?

Somewhere along the way, SGI added support for ISO 9660 filesystems larger than 2 GB, so that can be handy. I was surprised to see that I could read a 9GB ISO9660 dual layer DVD on my Onyx2! When I do installs I like them media side up on the desk so there out and ready but projected from scratches...
