O2 Upgradeability

Now here's the question... Who knows where to find a decenly priced R12k CPU for an o2 ;-) Is anyone aware of any O2 upgrade caveats? There are tons of things to be aware of when upgrading an Octane. Can any R10K O2 be upgraded to 270/300/400 MHz R12K? I might consider getting a 195 or 250 MHz O2 i...

For the CPS2 games, i found something on: http://www.geoshock.com/downloads/emulators/cps2.phtml Looks like this is going to work. ROM's are probably unfindable :( I've got lots of CPS2 ROMS, I just lack an emulator for IRIX, as well as a fast machine. Chalk up another reason to get an R12K O2 ;) H...

Re: Games: Ported Xmame 0.65.1 and Stella 1.3 for IRIX

Very cool! Thanks!

Do you have any idea what type of system I would need to properly run the Neo Geo games? What about CPS2 games are they supported yet?

Are there any NES emulators for IRIX? What about controller support?

Emulation is one of the few reasons I still keep a PC around.

Well, partially crazy, and partially sad that he would put PC parts inside of it :(

The chassis was damaged, it's not like he was ruining a perfectly good O2.

II think this is a general nono for this forum. It is very difficult, if not impossible, for Nekonoko to check whether this deals with real media or questionable copies. I have pictures I took here: http://mail.rochester.edu/~cm007i/ebay/irix/ I was able to buy two sets of media for a good price so...

Appropriate to advert. IRIX media for sale in this forum?

Wouldn't want to break any rules but SGI doesn't seem to give a hoot about hobbiests & students buying/selling IRIX to run on their second hand systems.

Presenter Questions

Actually it seems there are two cables for the Presenter, one for XL and one for XZ GFX cards in indy's. I've never understood this and I've never found good documentation. The presenter, Indy or 1280, requires an adapter card and a cable, no? I've seen the GIO32 adapter card for XL graphics in Ind...

There is also the Octane Uncompressed Digital Video I/O Upgrade (Silicon Graphics Octane Part Number: D9-OCT-DIGVID): http://www.sgi.com/peripherals/workstation/video_audio.html There are also several XIO video I/O boards, some of which will work in Octane and some which I beleive are only supported...

See for yourself ...

Most those really nice 50+ inch plasma displays happen to have DVI connectors. Apearently from what I have heard, they don't like to play nice with PeeCees, but I wonder if they support SOG and would run well on and SGI? That would totally rock! 8) http://brighton.ncsa.uiuc.edu/~prajlich/ Click on ...

Re: Developer online?

I've got a developer online account, but it doesn't seem to give me any extra entitlements for downloading - do I have to do something special to enable it? No, not that I'm aware of ... one thing to check would be to make sure your Supportfolio/Devloper Online account information matches as I've h...
