Sweet! I'm glad my suggestion worked out. I bet they don't have a lot huge graphics systems so this is probably a pretty good acquisition for them.

God damnit those are good skins. Since I'm not a rack man (I like chicks that can jog with me) what you have there might be the last SGI thing I lust after ...

If you look at the one picture, you can see "030-1401", which is a 300MHz processor module. The 250MHz and better nodeboards all use the same nodeboard PCB, and the processor modules are interchangeable (in fact, I dropped a 300MHz processor module onto one of my 250's because the 300's n...

How? I thought they moved the project to Boinc and that while the Boinc client is available for IRIX the SETI@home project didn't specifically support IRIX ... care to write a how to?

Re: [eBay not mine] Ooh, 64p of 300MHz, all in one place...

(They're 300MHz, not 350MHz, but that's ok, it's still quite spiffy.) The part number on the board he pulled would indicate 250MHz ... and the heatsink style would agree. So would the skins, which have the cube logo and the cray branding. Also, in his descriptions he seems to think that they're sep...

This is the best deal on an Octane I've seen recently. I'd call that giving it away.

Re: 3 pallets of SGI's for sale in Indiana

Same auction site has something a bit more interesting, lot number 41FBPI07296005. Looks like a bunch of crap and then in the background an Origin/Onyx3200 or something similar. They refer to it only as a "terminal server". It's in AL, so too far for me to go but the bid is only $25 at the...

Documentation

I had a good haul today but I ended up with a lot of dupes and things I don't want. I have a bunch of Developer Magic docs, all in pretty good shape, 2 huge Performer Programmers Guides, and also the Performer Getting Started Guide, and a SGI Global Services Sales Guide which is marked for "Int...

Yup. The marketing names and the board names get a bit confusing but I see from the photo that the geometry engine board is a GE16. That makes it an IR2E, plain old IR2 had a GE14.

The OP wrote 400mhz.

He edited the post after I asked. The price used to be $12K too. Wish I had the space, what a killer system.
