"1600SW+" ? :D That might explain the 1600SWs that occasionally pop up on eBay with the 'new' SGI logo and translucent skins. > < Actually, those were created to match the look of the (then) new blue and white Power Mac G4 series. They were rebranded and sold as the Radius Artica d...

You might try using one of the LCD monitors that shipped with some Flame/Smoke systems. The Sony SDM-P232/B and SDM-P234W/B may work, and I believe that there was a Philips model that was also offered.

yes but apparently the r5k were more capable than r10k/r12, so therefore a rm7k must make a difference Not necessarily. You would need to know if Flint uses the CPU or the ICE chip to do its colorspace conversion. If it's the latter, then a clock speed increase of the CPU would make no difference. ...

Re: Flint/Effect on o2 using a 600mhz CPU

o2 flint effect has problem playing back sequences becos of the memory to graphics limitation, but CPU speed can make a difference more than a fast array Actually, Flint's playback limitation is the O2's lack of hardware RGB to YUV colorspace conversion. That's why you can't play out footage for re...

If it's in an Octane2, it has to be a DM2. DM3 is for Tezro/Onyx350/Onyx3000.

hmm...what means old version? and what it differs from new one? and do u think is this system overpriced? thank u for answers It's not overpriced at $3000, but it will go for much more by the time the auction ends. I guarantee that an SGI reseller will nab it, then turn around and sell it for at le...

Pretty typical for surplus. The people who collect and transport this stuff see it as junk. They pickup and handle everything from furniture to computers, and usually don't get paid much to do it. I used to have an Indigo <now moved on to another nekochan member>, when I first saw it, a worker at a...

Re: Barney box on eBay

http://tinyurl.com/yjjt66 Why is it that so many eBay SGIs have nasty, scraped-up skins? I've owned many SGIs and never put a single mark on any of them. What do these people do, drag them from their desks to the warehouse? Sad. I'd gladly take just the CPU from this thing. Guys says serial number ...
