Re: What HP/DEC/Compaq do we have.

I'll toss mine in here too... AlphaPC164, the case is not original (did these even have those?) and it currently lives in a 4U PC rackmount case as my shell/web/mail server. CPU is 500MHz 21164A-2, 256MB RAM, ISP1040 to a LTO-1 tape drive and a disk to boot off, and ISP1080 connected to a HP MSA30 d...

Re: Old Octane + V12

I see, I did read some other posts here about people using less than the required parts, but perhaps that wasn't for these most powerful ones. (V6 on 1.2 IIRC)

Old Octane + V12

So silly me saw an auction for a cheap V12 and bought it, not thinking that my old octane only has Xbow 1.3. As far as I can tell, it is probably the issue, even if I also have the older PSU. I'm seeing the following things: Diagnostics from the console screen starts, but after "press ESC to qu...

Re: Convincing my octane to take custom resolutions?

Having fiddled with this off and on a few times, I've had some serious problems getting my lcd to work at (the native) 1920x1200... I then noticed that on the (old) sgi website, 1920x1200 was not listed as a supported resolution for the V6. Might this be a hint? Currently it sort of works, the octan...

Re: Xdefaults

I don't have amazon paint, but if it uses X resources you should be able to just set the resource value (likely fontList for motif and athena widget sets)
Oh, and the Xdefaults file is called '.Sgiresources' on IRIX. See also the 'editres' program and 'xrdb'...

Re: Seamonkey 2.0

Congratulations! I'm still stuck at cc-1367 CC: ERROR File = ../../../dist/include/xpcom/nsAutoPtr.h, Line = 956 A pointer to an incomplete class type is not allowed. mRawPtr->Release(); I've seen this before somewhere but I can't fix it since I don't really know C++. This is the issue with classes ...

Re: Maya 6 and V6 - does it work???

The proper place to put environment variables for maya is in $HOME/maya/<version>/Maya.env VPro V6 can't set the pixel clock to values between 106MHz and 193MHz and thus gives you a bit of an issue with useful video modes--1680x1050@anything is right in the range for instance. I seem to recall from ...

A n32 mips3 binary would be really nice - I've had trouble compiling irssi on my I2 R4400 (although admittedly, I didn't try too hard).

Done ;-)
