Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

But of course that would never work because wireless networking is so secure. ;) Indeed.. I actually showed my next-door-neighbor how easy it was to hack into her WiFi with reaver. She'd never seen anyone use a command line interface before, she thought it was black magic. Cluebats are usel...

Re: A smear campaign against nekochan.net mods on reddit

I don't know much (okay anything) about reddit, do the PTB there delete pointless rants like ive's? Because if they didn't he must have deleted it himself, and that doesn't seem much like the ive we all know and love... 8-)

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

I use USB-Ethernet adapter from, too (actually, I didn't tried to use the WiFi at all). I don't use WiFi either, my home LAN is completely ethernet. I do have a WiFi antenna pointed out my second story window though, by which I can surf the net using any one of my clueless neighbor's WiFi networks....

Jim Clark interview (Aug 2017)

This is must-to-watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rL1LnXo3Gs The interviewer is a bit clueless about most (not all) occurrences in the tech world prior to 1985, which I found to be a bit annoying, but the ever-polite Clark managed to capably ignore that. What really stands out in this intervie...

According to their documentation their Javascript support is pretty alack too.

Apparently, the only homegrown browser that supports it is TenFourFox, guess I'll have to get me a Power Mac... 8-)

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

I'm on the dillo developers mail list and traffic has slowed to almost nothing, I guess some people are still coding but the last release was in June 2015. Links is more active, two releases last year, but for reasons that defy logical explanation it looks like they've decided to give up completely ...

Re: Nekoware's e-uae recompiled with SDL support

Looks like the latest (though by no means recent, it's 10 years old) version is 0.8.29. Claims many bug fixes, better performance, blah blah blah all the usual verbiage developers spew out when they release a new version:

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

Dillo development appears to have either slowed to a crawl or lurched to a halt, no new version in over two years: Is the Dillo better than the Links http://links.twibright.com/index.php ? I use the Links (in GUI mode) much more than the Forefox. The Dillo ports never worked for me for some reasons ...

It's entirely possible I missed something but as far as I know that makes you the only one of us who has actually met the man/the legend... 8-) Haven't smj and hakimoto also met with hamei? Everyone knows that hamei actually is a rogue AI. Just like in the Kill Switch episode of The X-Files.....

Re: your latest purchase

it's this car, i'll upload some pictures soon. Importing an 80's Italian car from Poland, you are either incredibly brave, or foolish  Given it's rust-free condition (and low miles-- sorry, kilometers), it must have never been driven during winter. I drove my '97 Maxima in winter for 20 years ...

I use mine a lot because I don't have super high-end workstation software (Maya and Pro/E for example) on any of my other machines.
