I can't even begin to imagine why you'd need that many.

Missed that line.

Looks like it might be a viable porting effort. Cool.

Re: a call to arms

Is there a particular area where GTK2 is slow on IRIX or is it more a case of software bloat?
I don't have any GTK software installed on my O2 and have been away from the desktop linux scene for a few years.

Re: Ebay - This is nice, not

Depends on the config and the skins I suppose.
I'd be interested in some parts from one but not the whole thing shipping just isn't worth it to Aus.

Re: GNU on O2 - Is this guy telling the truth?

BTW, Git is the type of software that I mentioned - software that was developed on Linux and specifically for Linux in the first place. It was written by Linus Torvalds to replace Bitkeeper, and I don't imagine he cared all that much whether it compiles on anything other than Linux/GCC systems. In ...

If I wanted to write superfast code on the Mac, I'd use C, Carbon, maybe some assembler and most import...

Personally, I'm using SuperDuper! for backing up.
Like CarbonCopy, it creates a bootable backup of your drive incase something should happen to it.

"caustic" body chemistry you say, sounds like a super power

Geez that guy's PowerBook really is in bad shape.
I might spring for a replacement top for mine when I update to a MacBookPro later on this year.

I picked up a SS5/170 just recently.
Can't vouch for the speed of it, but here are some pics of mine.
