Re: Installing Photoshop 3.0.1

Did you try moving your extracted files into the directory /CDROM and running the install from there? Yeah, I tried moving it to /CDROM, but no such luck :( Try to search for DPS and Display Postscript on nekochan. I think DPS was removed from later IRIX releases after 6.5.22. I remember I had to i...

Installing Photoshop 3.0.1

When I upgraded to 6.5.30, it hashed Photoshop because of the DPS stuff, so I'm trying to reinstall it. I had it installed on 6.5.22, but I had to do something to the install script, and for the life of me I cannot remember what I did (maybe it will dawn on me during cocktail time). But this is what...

FTI icons

I've search through the forum and found little. Maybe we need a sticky thread or something for icons.

I've ported some stuff and can't find icons (like the latest version of xchat)

Where does one find icon files? :D

Re: YUM for AIX

AIX is my second favorite UNIXen after IRIX, but adding software to it is such a massive pain-in-the-ass. I co-manage a beefy ass POWER server with a buddy of mine, and we're eager to try it out.

Re: They're coming to take me away hehe! For compiling GCC

So I installed 6.5.30 and nekoware GCC 4.7.1. I wrote a beautifully written (it's goddamn art) C++ Hello World program, and it compiled just fine. Which means....pstewart is right and nekoware GCC doesn't work completely in 6.5.22, which kinda screws you if you have an Indy. At least my SGI isn't go...

Re: They're coming to take me away hehe! For compiling GCC

However, it should work with GCC. The log from praetor242 shows GCC having "unknown type name" errors in GCC's own include-fixed/pthread.h header. The specific error message suggests that praetor242 is using a GCC package (with "fixed" headers) from a newer version of IRIX than ...

Re: They're coming to take me away hehe! For compiling GCC

I'm not sure if running .30 would help. Is the nekoware G++ package work under .30?

That's why I'm doing this. The 4.7.1 neko package has a broken C++ compiler that doesn't work under 6.5.22. It complains about pthreads. There is a thread around here.

Re: They're coming to take me away hehe! For compiling GCC

GODDAMNIT! My build failed at 19 hours because OpenMP is failing....and....I could disable that...but I'd have to do everything ALL...OVER....AGAIN! :( I have no idea why it failed :( :(

Re: They're coming to take me away hehe! For compiling GCC

GCC 5 on IRIX would be a wet dream. I hoping compiling 4.7.4, some of the C++ programs I want (like weechat) will compile since the nekoware version of 4.7.1 is broken on 6.5.22 :( But GCC 5 would be nice. Maybe if we volunteer to support it, GNU will put the IRIX bits back in.

A buddy of mine works at Ames and is a sysadmin for Pleiades. Right now all their developers are doing other things. If I knew Fortran, this would be alot of fun!
