Re: libssh 0.7.1

libssh probably may not become used much in the nekoware community. However, some apps like Hydra (brute force cracker) use it. So this is why I built libssh. Its possible more security-type applications based on C may use libssh as well.

hydra 8.7-dev

Hydra 8.7-dev GCC compiled! MIPSPro got close but ended up getting a bit more involved. Requires neko_libssh I only tested brute forcing 'ssh' .. there is a lot to test with this tool. Oracle, postgresql, mysql support were not compiled in. Hydra is a parallelized login cracker which supports numero...

Did you have any luck finding another drive from HP that fits this case? I also have the same model.

Re: Octane : can't set tod clock

This may be a silly question.. but I'll ask anyway ;) A lot of dallas chip ''fixes" online only seem to glaze over the actual chip removal and re-inserting from the board. (some do it while chip is not removed from the board at all) Is the Dallas chip easily removed from the board (and replaced...

Re: What I did over the weekend

Did you get the source that supported any color pallete (8bit,etc..)? I had a compiled a binary from Dec of last year with that. Before that Basilisk (on IRIX at least) was stuck with whatever color depth (24bit,etc.) the IRIX X server was using, which is fine for things like photoshop but not for g...

Re: Quake 1 on O2

I spun up my O2 to test this out for EmpireAndrew.. all I get is a black screen.. i can hear things happening and can use (hear) arrows/enter key but all black.. whether running darkplaces-glx or darkplaces-sdl. It may be because I have my O2's resolution set to 1440x900_60 (custom vfo) and 32x32 bu...

Beta neko_quake-dp20140513.tardist issues with beta libpng

Re: beta: autoconf 2.69

Missing /incoming to beta package? I d/led all of nekoware's beta in mid 2015.. in there was a tardist of autoconf and it suffers from the missing foreach.m4 . Checking versions .. it shows as version 5. (autoconf 2.69) Did I d/l the wrong beta file? Or was neko_autoconf-2.69_6.tardist not available...

Re: Sunfire v880 with XVR-4000

Your v880 even has those bottom side panels!.. often those are missing and just show shiny metal. QEMU runs on Solaris/SPARC.. if you wanted to run some Intel-based OSs. A more modern firefox and OpenOffice than what IRIX has. This system will be very usable even in a modern sense. I have some V480'...

Re: Best workstation to start with?

I have gone through a lot of SGI systems in an attempt to find a good daily driver (still in 2017). The best all-around I have found is an Octane2 with Vpro (even the lowest Vpro 6 is fine) so you can get 1920x1200 resolution (versus an SGI O2 stuck at a lower res). Power consumption is not too bad ...
