Re: your latest purchase

I don't mind being behind the times, personally. I don't use facebook, barely use twitter, I do use gab, but mostly under a troll ...

If you ask them. They might make a one time exception to the no international shipping policy. I have had success doing so with other items in the past. Especially if you are the only buyer.

Ian's SGI Depot is more geared towards selling to commercial entities and thus the higher prices, because they can afford it. But he is a good person to deal with.

Even the Tezro will not help you with WWW because the Firefox 3 is "too old" for many pages :-(

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

My Octane II is still running. It serves as an offline computer, a cottage of sorts. When one wants to get away from the internet, FreeBSD and Windows.I might get on it every couple of weeks and it is always happily waiting to answer the call. Took it out earlier in the year and blew it out with an ...

On top of that.. i was unable to pull out my front after unscrewing the 6 screws.. seemed stuck on the top (bottom was able to get some play). Didnt want to pull out flat-head screw drivers and make a mess either. The steel plate that holds the Xbow and drive bay? Yeah, that happened to me too. Cou...

Me and Micrex22 were wondering where you went. Hopefully the FoxBSD resumes soon. I'm getting antsy. Lol.

Re: Why can't we sell/trade original commercial software?

Also there's the issue of those stupid dongles. I have some old versions of Discreet systems software(came from old Octane2 HD) that are unusable because the dongle isn't present.
