GCC-4.8.0 porting.

I am currently working on replacing the IRIX specific source code removed from GCC 4.8.0 and later distributions. I am down to remaining 10K lines of code to check and if nothing unexpected shows up should have a patch file to build a GCC 4.8.0 compiler ready in a couple of weeks.

Re: Onyx 2 OS install requirements

Actually that statement is incorrect. You can and should install OS without serial cable on a ONYX2 (assuming it has Infinite Reality card set) to get the Xserver properly setup.

Re: Current State of Nekoware / otherware

What we should do n order to compile this "modern" shite on our SGI's is to write and compile binary patches to MIPSPro that add the functionality that C and C++ now possess, that MIPSPro doesn't. Difficult? Yes. Impossible? Probably. Now, who's with me? Into the fray! WELL IT'S...

Bug in Nekoware gcc-4.7 stdc++

I suspect someone of you may have already notice this but a bug exists in the stdc++ library distributed with Nekoware gcc-4.7. This simple test will display the error : #include <cmath> void test(void) { ; } Compiling the above listed file will fail to compile with error messages from the stdc++ li...

Re: Tru64 GCC ADA compiler available.

Thanks for moving it to a drop box. Someone ask in the thread yes this is built from the standard GCC source which includes ada source since the 3.2 release of gcc. If you want an fully validated ADA compiler you can download the source from http://libre.adacore.com and build it yourself with this A...

Re: Tru64 GCC ADA compiler available.

I just now uploaded the ADA compiler to the incoming directory. It consists of two compressed tar files. One file is marked gnat-4.7-alpha-ev4-bin.tar.gz which will run on all Alpha's running Tru64 (maybe even in a emulator running tru64) and another file marked "gnat-4.7-ev6.tar.gz" which...

Tru64 GCC ADA compiler available.

I just finished building the GNU ADA compiler 4.7.4 on Tru64 5.1. The compiler also includes the 'C' (no C++ didn't build it but you can add it from source) as well. Where do I upload it if anyone is interested in a copy?

Re: 600Mhz O2 CPU

Well I just looked it up in my manual and it says it is able to program the the Xilinx 17xx series of serial EEprom. I can only program the 8pin Dip version. I can't do any of the surface mount types - No socket... I never tried program burning a serial EEprom before so I can only assume it works OK.

Re: 600Mhz O2 CPU

I do have a vintage prom/eprom burner setup for 1980 to 1995 prom types. What kind of prom is it and I will look and see if my burner supports it.

Onyx2 no power

Anyone have a spare power supply for a Onyx2 deskside? I just plugged my deskside in today ... Flipped on the AC breakers in back and nothing happens on the front display at all. I maybe lucky and a AC fuse blew otherwise I will need a power supply.

While you are mirroring don't forget about ftp://oss.sgi.com ... The source code for Inventor lies there in the project directory as well as other gems..

The noise from the fans mask out any noise from the hard drives.

Re: Oynx2 Deskside no graphics,no scsi and stuck base card.

I thought I give you an update on the Onyx2. I finally got it going running IRIX 6.5.20. The unit had multiple hardware failures including noisy power supply, bad geometry card, five fried hard drives and one jammed CD drive! I suspect the CD drive had been bad for a while but when the geometry board...

O2 no scsi adapter

I just picked up an O2 on Ebay. I plugged it in and the display comes up OK. When I list hinv in the monitor I don't have any scsi adapater listed and no CDROM or hard drives listed... What do I need to do to enable the internal scsi controller?
