Re: Clang/PCC on IRIX?

Okay foetz so you recommend MIPSPro eh? I just was wanting to do some testing to see if clang or PCC (Not GCC, I mean PCC) produces good MIPS code or if there are things it can improve upon.

Clang/PCC on IRIX?

Has anyone here gotten Clang/LLVM or PCC to build and work on IRIX? As MIPSPro is no longer sold or updated I'd like to play around with some non-GPL compiler - can anyone here share if they've managed to get it building and working to build stuff from source ( Such as pkgsrc? Since that is probably...

For Sale: SGI O2 System Module/Motherboard CPU

I have this extra O2 system module I do not need with a CPU on it. I would like to sell this for $40 OBO + postage from 20146 Ashburn Va, comes with what you see currently. Re: New Personal Iris 4D/35 owner, anything I need to know

I put small copper heatsinks on some of the chips. They're not too big though (I'm a purist, I primarily like copper for heatsinks) so I had to put multiple on a chip at once to cover the full thing. I'll have to get more from my dealer. Got a keyboard coming from Ian Mapleson (granite, almost new c...

Re: New Personal Iris 4D/35 owner, anything I need to know

Update: Just ordered the HDD bracket. Does the Iris have a proprietary connector or a standard SCSI? I have a few old scsis around I could get in there if I can find a 3.5 - 5.25 adapter but I have yet to take it apart due to not having the proper tools.

Re: New Personal Iris 4D/35 owner, anything I need to know

Welcome. Wow, that's a tough one to start with as your first SGI. (Though my first personally-owned SGI was nearly an IRIS 31xx and I could kick myself now for not rescuing it.) No worries I am getting an Octane as well. This will be a tinkering machine. I just got a mouse for it and am working on ...

Re: New Personal Iris 4D/35 owner, anything I need to know

All of the Personal Iris computers came in two types of case. The difference is whether the system disk is on a special sled or a fixed mount. If you can see the system disk (or an empty bay) from the front when the door is open, you have the TFLU case [Totally Front Loading Unit]. This case requir...

New Personal Iris 4D/35 owner, anything I need to know

So I picked up 2 Personal Iris workstations for $20 today. One is sold to a friend of mine for $40 (I don't have room for a second one). Why did I buy it? I hate throwing away stuff and I like the chance to restore stuff. Since I know NOTHING about SGI workstations, but I am UNIX literate to a degre...
