Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)

I was tempted.. I contacted the seller.. free delivery to the UK.. awesome.. I could purchase this quite easily and not feel guilty since I would class it as a birthday present.. Unfortunately, even though I took the effort to google translate a nice email to the seller.. I feel he was as informativ...

Re: IRIX netinstall via DINA - getting invalid argument error.

I've been trying to get my Octane to netboot my IRIX installation tools for some time now to no avail and I feel pretty stuck right now. As for the network environment: My main VM machine is running DINA, I've confirmed successful TFTP transfers with other computers in the network. I'm also able to...

Re: X11/Graphics Trouble Indigo2

Welcome StrikeKat, X can be quite dependant on network settings and you say the boot up sequence hangs on 'no Ethernet carrier' I suspect this could be a red hearing, I have though in the past had XDM struggle due to miss-configured network settings. Check /usr/gfx/gfxinfo Maybe set the graphics to ...

Re: How can we encourage better group participation on this site?

Why has the thread title changed? This makes no sense now as the OPs question was not this and none of the answers will make any sense.

Re: Keyboard and mouse advice

If you want to restore it to its former glory, then you really want the granite Silicon Graphics keyboard and mouse. Regardless of what lazy game reviews says, these are nice clicky keyboards and aphetically pleasing. The INDY is of course as mentioned simple PS/2 compatible, but there's nothing lik...

Re: Are we a dying breed?

I'm unsure we are actually missing anything on our board index. If I wish to write about my Vintage PS/2 I go to 'Other Platforms' --> 'IBM', cannot see what bringing other forum sections would bring. There are plenty of other forums for vintage PCs and vintage anything if the truth be known, and I ...

discreet Octane ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142499422322 The problem for me with this machine, is it's too far, simple as that. I have been chatting to the guy who is a discreet SMOKE user, even tried to get him to this site. Decent guy, and very knowledgeable. He has though lost all his marbles, and turned to the l...

Fibre - Fabric Mode?

Thought I would start a new thread on my fibre story, since this next stumbling block isn't anything to with the cards not actually working. So here is the setup so far. Equipment: SUN T3 - 9 Drives, 2 Volumes with 4 Slices each configured for masking and permissions based on the WWN, so no sharing....

Re: How frequently you use your SGI (in 2017)?

I use USB-Ethernet adapter from, too (actually, I didn't tried to use the WiFi at all). I don't use WiFi either, my home LAN is completely ethernet. I do have a WiFi antenna pointed out my second story window though, by which I can surf the net using any one of my clueless neighbor's WiFi networks....
