Re: Audacity and Pango

Thanks for the reply. Yes it was neko_audacity and I received this error trying to run it after the install. Since I could not locate "pango-querymodules" I thought maybe it was not included with neko_audacity and installed it along with neko_fontconfig. After installing neko_pango I still...

Audacity and Pango

What is the trick to getting audacity running? After installing audacity there were complaints of pango and fontconfig missing so I installed them. It keeps telling me to run pango-querymodules but I can't find this file anywhere on my system. Any ideas?

Re: any lcd 19 inch monitor that display 50Hz vertical rate

Just tested my Gateway FPD1975W and it works at 1280x1024 50Hz. However its native resolution is 1440x900 and consequently looks pretty bad.

Re: 02 custom video mode.

A custom video mode is pretty easy with the VESA spreadsheet.

www.fl-eng.com/_lib/doc/vesa.xls

Use an example vfs file as your template and change the values for your monitor. I was kind of amazed that it takes a good 10 seconds to compile a vfc file even if the output is only a few kb.

Re: any lcd 19 inch monitor that display 50Hz vertical rate

Is 50Hz a valid rate for any display? I ask this because people talk about the V6/V8 clock bug and point to the wikipedia entry saying 1280x1024x50 is the solution. 50Hz is not an option in xsetmon, there is 60, 59S, 25, and 100. I can't look at a 60Hz CRT, much less one running at 50. Can this be a...

Re: 1440x900, new vfo, still flakey on V6

Schleusel has kindly provided several pre-compiled 1440x900 modes for VPro graphics , perhaps one might provide a better solution. I tried a few of those first and they did not work as well my compiled version. They also have clock freqs of 106 Mhz. Those files appeared ok at first but then running...

1440x900, new vfo, still flakey on V6

Just wanted to report that after compiling a new 1440x900 vfo for my Gateway FPD1975W LCD the video is still flakey. The clock frequency ended up being 88.09 Mhz which should be outside the V6 bug however scrolling in firefox and certain opengl stuff will have artifacts. Does anyone know some detail...

A better sync on green solution

I spent the morning studying the sync on green issues that always come up when using the 13w3 connector with an LCD monitor. The LM1881/EL1883 chip is capable of separating the sync signals however you are still left with a combined green signal. Doing some digging turned up a chip from Maxim, the M...

IRIX locations in DINA

Hello all, soon I will be using DINA to get IRIX 6.5 installed on my new Octane. I've been reading the documentation and this part confuses me. There is a structure of premade folders your can use. E.g copy the IRIX 6.5 CD 1 in to the folder /irix/6.5/1. and Or type bootp()IP adress to DINA server:/...
