I have a small script (can't remeber where I got it) that I use to unpack every tardist in one dir: #!/bin/csh -f foreach i (`ls -1 ./*.tardist`) echo $i tar xvf $i end You can tweak the code to prevent a mess (I did) of all the files and tardists in one dir. But it's a usefull code for me, ...

What I really miss, are the Archimedeses. My dad had them from his company, and they were absoluut great. When the whole DOS world was looking in a command line, I was playing games on a Archimedes, there was even a 3d game! I still remember the game giana sisters we used to play on the Archimedes A...

Indy workstations owner's guide page 178:

I recently bought an Indy, and got a few books with it, so I started reading.
On page 177, the hardware Do's and Don't start:

Do not:
...
dangle the mouse by its cable or throw the mouse at co-workers

I read it twice and still laughed about it

I believe there are plans afoot to ban them in Netherlands or one of other countries on the continent, i'm not sure as it was awhile ago i recall hearing about it... That is indeed the Netherlands, segways are here forbidden to use on public road. Not that mant people will have a problem with it, i...

I recently bought a second hand toshiba e310. I hasn't got wifi or bluetooth, but it was cheap. I just use it as calendar, organiser, games and media player, and its really good for that.

Re: Hah! Posting from my Octane, Finally.

After about a month, I'm finally here. :) I just had to celebrate a bit. Observations from an irix newbie: 1) What is the deal with swmgr? Everyone says it is great, but I feel like I just took a trip back to Redhat 5.0. Well, stuff just works. I had to set up an origin 200 via a serial line, and t...

I'm probably the one that know the least about this, but the folowing pictures made me wondering some time ago. They're of sgi's site now, but google still has them in their cache: http://images.google.nl/images?svnum=10&hl=nl&lr=&q=sgi+media+rack&btnG=Zoeken http://images.google.nl/...

True - but did it ever cross your mind that even if you die peacefully in your bed, /someone/ might be inconvenienced anyway?

That's why I'm trying to live eternally. I succeeded so far

I'd jump in front of a train. Now that's just down right anti social and selfish. Inconveniencing a large number of people while also killing yourself. :) Like jumping off a building makes it better :P Anyway, after that, the only question that remains.... Who's gonna clean up the mess ? :D But wou...

I that case, let me rewrite my question: What can I have missed that makes me uncomfortable under 4DWM? According to some reactions, it isn't that bad, so I must have missed some nice thing about it. In short: tell me what's great about it :) I guess an easier way of seeing this is: tell us what's ...
