my view is that if someone takes a perfectly good and working sgi and puts pc hardware in it then its a waste, i am not saying anything about anyones work, its their box so they can do what they like but i just think its a shame to destroy a perfectly good machine not just sgi it goes the same for m...

your not alone i have had this problem as well. Basically there is a small infact tiny white cog inside the cdrom drive that has come a little loose as for some reason the cd tray will not click into place. Only way i have found to fix it is to open the cdrom drive up and slide the whole cd tray out...

all this O2 bashing! 6.5.20 runs fine on my R5k 200 just need to kill some stuff using chkconfig and don't use the freeware just compile everything you want to use from scratch i find its quiet usable my R5k indy runs quiet well as well, just have to make sure you have a good amount of ram and an SC...

tried console and the gcam visual console and get some problem with either, trying minimum hardware also does nothing and still hangs at same place but the idea with the nvram is a good one just need to fiddle with it a bit and see if i can find a way to get to to clear. as for the chicken and penta...
