I am happy with ther standard 80gig jobby atm. Just got to wait till next pay day to stick a gig of ram in it and take the risk of running WoW on it. Is the faster processor but the 9200 might be the limiting factor. Oh well if it doesn;t work I will just sell it to my bro to run on his athlon 64 si...

Re: 1991 over again?

4 years down the line SGI will have 10K employees again and bought some of its buildings back? Don't think so since Pepsico UK has just moved into SGI's old office in Reading. Nice office, I esspecially like the view from the top floor 8) Their new offices in Thames Valley Biz Park (although smalle...

Thinking of pikcing up an old Sawtooth one and sticking one of the above upgrades in it so I can try to run World of Warcraft on it (maxed out ram to go with it!) and was wondering if it was a good idea o...

I run gentoo on an old athlon and it is indeed in my opinion a nice distribution but there is little point in grabbing a Stage 3 tarball because then you are losing some of the reason to run gentoo. I think the compile time is worth it as you are not only installing gentoo you are also configuring i...

xmms 1.2.10

short story being i tired to compile xmms 1.2.10 and got some strange results. I get no errors duing configure or make other than a few ones about sloppy C programming (no return statment in non void functions) and a few about linked libraries but other than that no problem, but when i go to run the...
