vlc 0.8.1

I have compiled vlc 0.8.1 with a wxwindows gui. however, playing video (I have tried a dvd and an mpeg file) results in "red" video instead of full color. Audio is missing, and a lot of framerates are lost on the dvd. I have irix 6.5.22 on a 300MHz O2 with 1024 mb ram. does anyone experience this "r...

Don't have any 1600sw around, but I have a 17" tft. Haven't tried another monitor to test the dual channel capabilities yet. I'll keep you informed when I do. BTW, here's the output from gfxinfo -v: Graphics board 0 is "CRM" graphics. Managed (":0.0") 1280x1024 32 bitplan...

Gaim 1.3.1

Gaim 1.3.1 compiles and runs ok on my r5200 o2 (6.5.22). However, MSN insists that SSL must be enabled and refuses to accept my login. No problem at all with my ICQ account. How was neko_gaim (version 1.0 I believe) able to log on to MSN whereas 1.3.1 fails?

SGI THC or SGI MDMA

Or we can wait for a small enogh G5 mobo to come out, and then use it inside the o2, but then we'd hve to change the name to something like "SGI THC" or "SGI MDMA"....or better yet: "SGI Psylocibne", after all, the o2 does resemble a mushroom.

Solution to USB inside o2

I've had this idea for some time now, which would enable one to have an "o2" with USB. Find a cheap o2 (try to find a dead one). Gut the internal parts, you won't need them. Find a cheap but decent, small footpint PEE CEE. Hack the PEE CEE mobo and power supply into the o2 chasis, add USB, FireWire,...

Most important way to get SGI backon it's paws: LOWER PRICES

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that you'll sell more if your price/performance ratio is competitive. Apple understood it had to bring prices down in order to be competitive in this game and attracive to the consumer. SGI still thinks that putting out the most expensive "intel inside"...

Any success with a QLA2100F fiber channel PCI adapter?

I know the QLOGIC 2200 works on IRIX, but haven't found info on the QLA2100F.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. BTW, I plan to use it on a O2.

Are the O2 Dual Channel display boards rare? My other O2 has the Flat Panel adapter, the one that works with the SGI Presenter 1280 and also has the minidin connector for 3D eyewear. uname -aR: IRIX negev 6.5 6.5.22m 10070056 IP32 Here's the output from hinv -mv: CPU: MIPS R5000 Processor Chip Revis...

O2 RM5200 overclock

Hello, I own a couple of O2's. One of them has the 300Mhz RM5200 CPU module :) I've read about the 600MHz surgical upgrade, and would certainly like to know if anyone offers such upgrade. However, I'd also like to know if anyone has tried moving around the resistors on this module (like many do on t...
