Re: Firefox 3.0.19 in beta

Downloaded and tried to install, but lots of gtk2 deps needed (I have self compiled gtk2 stuff on my o2, FF2.0.22pre worked fine with them).
I'll have to find another drive in which to install nekoware and try out FF3.0.19.

IBM 100DX4/Tp and PCI cards

Hello, Been away a while, and in this time I managed to find the IBM Valuepoint 100DX4/Tp (mini-tower). This is a 100MHz 486DX4 box, and I have one with ISA and PCI slots (there is a version with ISA and MC). I'm having troubles getting the PCI cards to work. They just are not recognized. ISA cards ...

Re: Lucent/Orinoco OEM reflashing to first party

Hello,
I believe if you installed the card in a Powerbook, it would also be flashed to a Lucent/Orinoco (you have to download Orinoco drivers).
Try with OS 8.6 or OS 9.X

NeXT MO 256MB cartridge in newer MO drives?

Tried to use a NeXT 256MB MO disk in a Sony 5.2GB MO unit (SMO-F551). Drive sucked the cartridge in and spun a while, then repeated and audible spin cycle again and again. Drive never mounted nor stopped spinning until I ejected the disk by pressing the eject button on the unit. PDF and online docs ...

Re: Floppy Disks

I recently obtained a 5 1/4" external floppy drive. Tried a few old floppies that have been boxed for...over a decade. They all worked perfectly. Tape is supposed to be the best and most durable backup. MO would come in at second.

Re: not enough ranting ...

The author of this "opinion" on the NYT is a liar. Wall Street is NOT pure capitalism . It is CRONY capitalism. Or even worse....fascism. In real capitalism, when you go broke, YOU DON'T GET BAILED OUT BY THE TAXPAYER. The author has no idea what capitalism is (or wants the sheeple to beli...

Re: Silly things that people you know think.

ye olde saying goes "mother knows best". she is correct in more ways than one. The "soviet union" as you knew it might not be there, but it has now been replaced by similar socialist states: the EUSSR and the USSA. Did you know that over 46 million in the US are on foodstamps? TS...

Re: power5 nightmare

During the weekend I tried to mount the P5 drives on a linux box, without success (gparted had jfs support). Disklabel was unrecognized. Is there a way to mount AIX hard drives on any other platform/os? Reseated RAM and other components and started the server again. I get the following error codes: ...

power5 nightmare

Scored a power5 system at an online auction, but soon the joy turned into a nightmare. The system comes up but then goes right back to power-off status. Several codes appear on the front panel display. Since the server has no framebuffer, I had to connect via serial terminal to collect more informat...
