Changing an IO9 module on Altix 350.

One of our customer has an ALTIX 350 system with an IO9 module. I'm suspecting the base module or the io9 module to be faulty. If replacing the the base module IP57 & IO9 module, will this trigger any nvram mismatch problems? Admittedly, I've never used an Altix system so before I go there and l...

noob question - changing I-brick, will it affect serial #?

Hi there,

Got a newbie-type question... just concerned if when changing the I-brick in my Origin3000 will affect the serial number of the system in any way?

Thanks,

Disks from RAID not seen by my jbod config.

I bought a few FC disks off of ebay for my jbod disk array. They originally came from a TP9xxx raid. When I plugged them into my clariion disk array, my system can't even see the disks. D'oh! :?

Is there a way to revert them in some way to be recognized and used in my jbod unit?

Thanks!

Re: usb mice

I tried hooking up a USB Keyboard from a Dell PC and an SGI USB mouse to an Onyx3400. In the prom monitor, both work fine. When the system boots up, the mouse does not want to work. The cursor is stuck in the middle of the screen and the buttons don't have any effect. The keyboard seems to work. Is ...

Diff between a 030-1227-00x & 030-1327-002 O2 motherboard?

Anyone know the difference between a 030-1227-00x & 030-1327-002 O2 motherboard? I need a motherboard for an R5200 300mhz CPU O2.

Re: Multi-pipe Onyx2 graphics crashing/restarting

Hi Recondas,

It was a bent pin or two on my backplane of one of the pipes that caused my graphics crashing problems. :x

Multi-pipe Onyx2 graphics crashing/restarting

Dealing with a 6-pipe Onyx2 that we just setup here. The system recognizes the 6 pipes correctly. However, the graphics is crashing and restarting. It seems to do it for every single pipe. The following cut from the /var/adm/SYSLOG scrolls through my dumb terminal each time the graphics resets itsel...

Cbrick error msg: PIMM0 5V aux high fault limit reached @6.

I got the following message on a C-brick.

"PIMM0 5V aux high fault limit reached @6.006V"

Any ideas what it could be?

Mike - If you can upgrade to 6.5.22m, I'd consider doing so. Besides picking up the ability to correct the TZ issue, 6.5.22m would allow you to install and run all of the software available through nekoware <something you *can't do with 6.5.17>. It might come to that if I can find no alternative. :...

Any idea what options are available to those of us running Irix 6.5.x Maintenance since the patches are just for the Feature Releases without upgrading to 6.5.22?

My systems are running 6.5.17m. :?

Formatting 520 sector format drive?

I just got two replacement drives for our Clariion Raid. The disks are 17.8 gb 7200rpm - 520 sector Format. SGI P/N: 9470257 We got replacement drives but got a problem when adding one of them to the SGI FC RAID (Clariion 4500/5500 SGI branded). The disk show up and seems to be working fine. But the...

Onyx2 Deskside stuck at bootup prom

Hi, Our Onyx2 deskside does not startup anymore without any change made to its configuration recently. The bootup sequence stops very early, before the IRIX starting menu can display on the screen. The small digital display above the power key stabilizes on the number "5C5C3F3F". The follo...

Booting an R8000 XZ disk in an R10000 XZ Indigo2?

Hi,

Can a disk from an R8000 XZ Indigo2 system boot in an R10000 system also with XZ Graphics?

I have an R10000 Indigo2 with XZ graphics possibly available to me and was wondering if I could switch over.

Thanks,

Mike
