Premier was a flagship product of Adobe's when the O2 came out. At one time all Adobe products were available for IRIX until SGI didn't want to be a graphics company anymore. You sometimes find copies on eBay.

porting a winforms program to UNIX is more work than it's worth. Mono only supports GTK+ on Unix, and Winforms under WINE. C# is a fine language for the windows platform, but like everything written specifically for windows, it's not as robus as it should be (being well-mannered here). Java is by fa...

Old post, I realize. But only the JIT compiler is availible for Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and the other big *nixes. The reason for this per mono documentation is because of the big-endian nature of the most RISC platforms. Since C# is a very very strongly typed language, a rewrite of some of the core plat...

Hell no. The doggies get squirted with a water bottle if they dare come into my computer room. Sad, but true. They shed really bad and have a tendency of crawling under my desk where my systems are.

I think porting it to IRIX would not only be useful for us, but maybe SGI. Maybe a patch to support multiple processors. Run virtualized windows or linux on a SGI MIPS box would be awesome. Since they seem to want to be a non-graphics company. IBM has been doing it. A Origin 3400 running hundreds (t...

I've done a bit with GTK on Linux. And you are without uncertainty right. It is a easy toolkit compared to motif .which I have used extensively. But GTK or QT are quite bloated in terms of code size and they are non-standard parts of many of the best UNIX OS's while the motif toolkit is standard on ...

WTB: Indigo R4k w/ Elan Graphics

I'm looking for an Indigo R4k w/ Elan Graphics. I had one a few years ago but had to sell it (shit happens and it always dumps all over you). Life has not been the same since. Any help finding one is appreciated.

DVD Burner recommendation

Can anyone recommend a SCSI DVD burner known to work with IRIX 6.5? I've been tasked with the burden of transferring the family christmas videos to DVD. A new toy on my family's bill! :D

I've wanted to see Iceland for a while. I've heard that's a really nice place to visit. Don't know too much about the culture, but they seem to be off in their own little world. Never hear anything about them. Yeah, the toliet here hasn't been flushed for a while and it's starting to stink. "The Uni...
