Re: Mips3 E-Uae

You have libaudio.a in /usr/lib32

I think it's as easy as (MIPSpro):

Code: Select all

cc -shared -all -o libaudio.so libaudio.a

GCC has slightly different syntax, probably "-Wl,-shared -Wl,-all" or similar.

Re: Onyx Problems, seemingly power related

99:99:54 :0 ??? 99 Your system controller's Dallas chip has run out of juice :P The Onyx has 505 and 512 power modules on the back of the backplane. They provide +5V and +12V to graphics (and I think the IO4, but I'm not 100% sure). The CPU and MC3 boards have their own converters for +3V3 and +5V,...

Re: Onyx Problems, seemingly power related

The Onyx has a 110/220VAC to 48VDC offline switcher (OLS). Most boards in the Onyx are fed with 48VDC and transform it locally to the voltages they need. The OLS is probably fine. Don't mess with it. either "-12VDC OVER VOLTAGE" or "-5.2VDC OVER VOLTAGE" I'm pretty sure the only ...

AFAIK there's only one SGI graphics system designed from the ground up as a realtime system and that's Infinite Reality. I attached a whitepaper.

So the answer is "an Onyx".

Re: Fibre Channel Switches

AIC 1160 is FC-AL only, not SAN.

So you can direct attach a disk array, but the average SAN switch won't talk to it. Some 'smarter' SAN switched can effectively 'tunnel' FC-AL, so you can still talk to an array behind a switch.

Re: Tezro wanted

Confirm that the Alloy wheels were sent to you by the same seller They were not, and that's the problem with eBay GS. Essentially, a seller ships his gear to an eBay GS warehouse, they re-label it and pass it on. Except (obviously) their re-labeling is not flawless. So instead of one a small(ish) b...

Re: Your first SGI encounter

My first encounter with SGI hardware was a bunch of Indigos in a lab under lock and key in the university in the (very) early nineties. Next, I saw a bunch of 4D/3xx tall racks in a Fraunhofer institute during the next couple of years. I'm pretty sure my (now) very own 4D/380 VGX was one of them. My...

Re: Tezro wanted

I have literally had about 20 items shipped to me I still have a set of 19" alloy wheels that were sent to me when all I was expecting was a 13w3 sync converter :) Unfortunately (1) there's not much I can do with 2 alloys and (2) I have no car that fits them so for the time being they just sit...

Re: Octane2, 2x400MHz, 8GB, VPro V12

That's a very nice looking Octane2, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. It's true that $550 for 8GB is a lot compared to current system RAM prices. It's also a fair amount of money period, which is why my Octane2 still has the 4GB RAM it came with. Benefit of 8GB is debatable except for corner ca...

Re: Show Off Your Home Office Setup & SGI Collection...

Yesterday I fallen from my bicycle when I was trying to achieve a new personal record, something like 59+1Km/h. I was very motivated. Unfortunately the inner-tube of the back wheel exploded during a bend. It was too hot on the road, and I drifted on the bend. The worst mistake ever. I ended loosing...

Re: Fuel CPU Disabled

Try typing "enableall" on the console, that might help. You'd have to reach the PROM prompt first, and with a single, disabled CPU that's not going to happen. However, there's the L1 'cpu' command: speedo 9# l1cmd help cpu cpu cpu status cpu e enable all cpus cpu d disable all cpus cpu <s...

FWIW, you can upgrade the GE with a GE16-4 without replacing the RM board(s). GE16 boards are easier to find. The other way around (GE14 w./ RM9) works as well.

That's a Cooler Master Wave Master case, probably a generic PC.
