Re: WPA and WPA2 clients are all vulnerable to the KRACK attack.

In addition to client-side issues, I expect that an enormous percentage of wireless routers and access points never will be patched If I understand correctly, this is a man-in-the-middle attack against the client. Unless you run your router as a wireless repeater, it isn't a client. I'm sure Window...

Re: Article: The Coming Software Apocalypse

Controlling your heating system remotely could be useful for example so you don't needlessly heat up your house in the evening if you're stuck working late at work Not my house. It's isolated well enough that if I were to yank the plug from the heating system in the morning, by the time I get back ...

Re: [Not Mine] Indigo2 Impact R4400 on dutch marktplaats.nl

My biggest beef with the Dallas chips is that by the time the battery runs out they have EOL-ed the part and you cannot replace it. That, plus any replacement is just going to run out also. If you design for a service life of 7 - 10 years, and don't want leaky batteries, the Dallas modules make sens...

Re: [Not Mine] Indigo2 Impact R4400 on dutch marktplaats.nl

hey now what's this? Would you mind posting some pics of this if you actually do it? Would be interesting to know what this mod is all about A couple of years ago someone put a bunch of Dallas chips lifted from various SGI systems in an xray machine for me. The result looks like this (I don't know ...

Yeah those barracudas are dreadful.

The biggest problem right now seems to be that it has an empty Dallas so it's confused when powered up. Often the graphics are in a weird mode. I think I'll make a CR2032 mod, I should have an X-ray image of that type of Dallas.

Mine :)

Not that I needed another SGI, but for 50 bucks and a 10 minute drive I couldn't let it slip.

Re: Best workstation to start with?

Hamie old chap I expected nothing less, BUT!! I agree with Classic on this regarding the o2, because the o2 is positioned as an easy starter. Yes they are brittle, yes they don't start up sometimes (see my previous rants), but nor doe does the Octane which also act like a wife who you've upset for ...

I wonder if you could make a convincing bug logo out of Lego blocks. Transparent, with some LEDs :)

You need at least 6.5.9.

Newer overlays can be downloaded from archive.org these days.

Re: Best workstation to start?

First, I wouldn't get started with an O2. They are under powered and break easily. Except maybe for a strictly CPU-bound task and an (expensive!) 400MHz R12000 O2, the Indigo2 R10000 will beat the O2 at almost everything (and I have both). The O2 is sluggish to react to user input, almost any other ...

Photo of my test area proving how tolerant my wife is. :D Must be true love. I rebuilt a Kärcher high pressure washer on the kitchen floor last night, but I'm not taking my chances with SGI gear there  Test 1) Tezro rack system with V12 connected to another rack unit also with a V12.
