Re: Fuel CPU Disabled

Try typing "enableall" on the console, that might help. You'd have to reach the PROM prompt first, and with a single, disabled CPU that's not going to happen. However, there's the L1 'cpu' command: speedo 9# l1cmd help cpu cpu cpu status cpu e enable all cpus cpu d disable all cpus cpu <s...

Re: Onyx2 Reality Graphics problems

FWIW, you can upgrade the GE with a GE16-4 without replacing the RM board(s). GE16 boards are easier to find. The other way around (GE14 w./ RM9) works as well.

WTB: SCSI cable for a Fuel

Mine is damaged, so I'm looking for a new cable to connect the internal hard disk(s) to the main board.

That's a Cooler Master Wave Master case, probably a generic PC.

Re: Show Off Your Home Office Setup & SGI Collection...

*you* comment that cutting a cat's penis is "funny" This is OT to this thread but I think you misunderstood, so let me explain. That wasn't "fun". Their previous owner said the cats were best buddies and she didn't want to split them up, so we took both of them. But as so...

I am quite sure that who collects a lot of objects in the same room just wants to expose how many they have! On a forum devoted to vintage computers, in a thread titled "Show Off Your Home Office Setup & SGI Collection", honstely, what do you expect?? Like when we were teenagers and w...

Yes.

I think I have 1 or 2 SE boards in storage.

That's quite a collection of systems you've got there. And I see you're a connaisseur of fine audio equipment as well :)

Re: SCSI Storage devices

I've used a SUN D1000 array with a Challenge S and an Onyx or Onyx2 -- these are all systems with the (high voltage) differential SCSI ports to match. Worked like a charm.

I don't know if all Exabyte units work, but SGI used to sell them. I had one in my Onyx or Challenge but it failed.

Re: Onyx2 Reality Graphics problems

Any ideas what might be wrong? I have tried searching for the MAPRAM error but have had limited success - from what I have found I am leaning towards a GE problem? I think you're right. You can try to run the IR diagnostics for only the GE, RM or DG board to get more confidence, e.g. "irsaudit...

Re: SGI Tezro: Quad 800 MHz with 4MB cash vs Quad 700 MHz with 8MB cash

8MB cache was mostly used in HPC applications with large datasets (O3K etc). That's probably not the original CPU board of that Tezro. In a typical desktop application you will not notice the difference with 4MB. I'd go with the 800MHz board. For some applications, the 800MHz board was even faster t...

Re: how things should be shipped properly

Nothing is ever foolproof though, one time a system I sent to Italy was wrecked because (I was told) a forklift in a warehouse shoved one of its fork prongs right through the box. Look, I found the Italian-proof O2 :D http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silicon-Graphics-O2-base-unit-CMN-B014ANT180-keyboard-m...

Good progress!

Do you want to replace the mainboard, or do you want to keep it as a (dead / for display only) prototype?

Re: Looking for dmSDK

What you have is probably dmedia_eoe and low level drivers (xtdigvid). What you're looking for is dmedia_dev.

It's on Overlay disc 2 of 3, and the base system is on the Development Libraries disc.
