Re: Dat compatibility question

Here's what /var/sysgen/master.d/scsi looks like on an IP26 PowerIndigo2 running IRIX 6.2. Many thanks for stepping in to help j-j. I think the Archive Python 1931 firmware is in fact the Conner CDT-8000 .... which is why I am guessing there is something fundamentally wrong in the installation. Eve...

Re: Dat compatibility question

Thank you very much! But I have Irix 6.2.... This guide remain good? Again, I'd recommend you wait until someone whose IRIX 6.2 experience occurred within the last decade or so weighs in. If I still owned an I2 running IRIX 6.2, I guess I'd look to see if tape definitions are stored in /var/sysgen/...

Re: LTO anyone

Recently bought a varied bunch of LTOx units, so here's an entry for a Tandberg TS400 LTO2: Thanks for adding that to the list of LTO definition files. recondas, are you there? :) Occasionally, but (real) life seems to have grown especially complicated during my hit-n-miss absence. Btw, as bjornl p...

Re: Dat compatibility question

I probably need a trick: rewrite the firmware or edit the scsi file I might be able to help with the scsi file. First a question. Which version of IRIX are you running? I haven't run any version of IRIX prior to 6.5 in so long I'm no longer certain if the process mentioned above is the same. So if ...

Re: Dat compatibility question

I don't need dat audio recording, but I have read some troubles with not sgi tape drive.... some need kernel rebuilding, is true? If the tape mechanism isn't one that's listed in /var/sysgen/master.d/scsi you may have to provide your own definition file, or modify the entry for a drive of similar c...

Re: 13w3 to VGA on Octane2

I know this question maybe asked several times before, I apologize for that. I've read the info here http://www.nekochan.net/wiki/13w3_to_VGA also. I have a couple of Dell monitors that in theory support SoG. While I can't offer any firsthand advice on that particular 13W3-to-VGA adapter, I like to...

Re: No prom graphics with console=g

Hi all, Hello Icejam, welcome to nekochan.net! I just got an Indigo2 High Impact up and I have a black screen until the "system is coming up" message. Then graphics are fine. console=g is set in nvram. Without a keyboard and mouse the serial console works fine too. Any ideas? A bit of a p...

Re: My first Octane

I hooked up a monitor with an adapter I bought and didn't get anything at all..... My shiny new null modem cable came in, which is male-female... and that's where my fun stopped for the day. I'll have to wait for the other new female-female cable to come in, hopefully on Monday. Edit: Drives don't ...

Re: Tezro sound card

Not to belabor the obvious, but have you looked at the chkconfig setting for soundscheme

Code: Select all

chkconfig soundscheme on

Also perhaps a look at the audio panel to check the mute button setting and which audio output is selected as the default.

Re: Fixing V6/V8 glitch fx

Attached is a 1280x1024_50 vfo. I didn't know what monitor you'll be using, so the timing is derived from a random 1280x1024 modeline that happened to be handy (for a Dell 1905FP.) Not all monitors will play nice with a 50Hz refresh rate (or off-the-cuff timing), so if it doesn't work we might need ...

Re: Origin 3200 Console Access

If your O3200 came with an L2 controller you can connect to the L2 console port and manage and issue the correct brick start-up sequence for the entire system from there. The L2 also has a ethernet port, so you could use Control D or T to access the L1/L2 or system consoles from any system on that s...

Re: Dubious Tezro on ebay (certainly not mine!)

The XIO card connector is on the back side of the PCI riser. The AGP riser of the Onyx4 has no XIO card connector; the space is taken by the Image Sync cables. Robespierre's explanation is right on the money; for those of us who are visually oriented, I dug a AGP riser out of storage and took a few...

Re: Fuel hardware aggregator edits ?

While the OP of each of the Aggregators could certainly consolidate info from follow-up posts into the aggregated content, the mods have kept up with making most of the changes. Mostly because it takes moderator-level access to split the follow-up posts off into their own topic (once the new content...
