Re: "Intergraph ZX10" problem with AGP Pro / Wildcat 7110

This might not be a welcome suggestion but I'd recommend another model of Wildcat. I used a 7110 in a Dell P4 workstation for a while and it eventually broke, giving similar symptoms to the ones you've described: blank screen and BIOS error beeps on boot. Not a very reliable board. The ZX10 systems ...

That combination of twin O2s and Softimage book really brings a tear to my eye. Looks like you've got the beginnings of a nice little render farm :)

Re: your latest purchase

My lastest car... NICE. I drove a BiTurbo once and it was surprisingly fast. Love the aggressive look too. But man, the reliability issues would scare me off. How will you handle it - do you have a shop or a good mechanic? And have the issues been solved over the years? Such a cool car if it can be...

Re: your latest purchase

Recent eBay purchase: Cinema 4D XL 6, a mid-level 3D animation package from 2000. Was available for both Mac & PC. Popular in broadcast and was roughly on par with packages like LightWave and ElectricImage. A 3D artist named Phil McNally used it to create a personal animated short called "P...

Re: SGI Indy YouTube Video - Silicon Classics #7

Nice job and excellent information! Thx, at some point I'd like to pull my deskside Onyx out of mothballs and do a proper review of it. The big iron needs more exposure on YouTube. Did one of your Acclaim Indys include the N64 development board? I wish! Looks like several had the boards installed a...

Re: SGI Indy YouTube Video - Silicon Classics #7

Thanks, I think my stuff is not quite up to LGR standards but I'm trying. Some decent tunes would probably help a lot. Bought a boxed set of royalty-free music to lay down in the background but most of the songs sounded like elevator music or 1990s corporate training video junk so I left it out.

SGI Indy YouTube Video - Silicon Classics #7

Finally finished that YouTube retro-review of the Indy that I've been working on since the winter. Hopefully even seasoned experts on the blue pizza box will discover some previously unknown facts & photos of the Indy in this episode. PS - With apologies to Goldbug for using his sig full of SGI ...

Re: Your first SGI encounter

In 1995, the summer before my senior year of high school, I was enrolled in an internship at Brookhaven National Labs on Long Island. I was supposed to be learning HTML code for this newfangled thing called the World Wide Web but I was more interested in driving powerlaps around the RHIC particle ac...

It's a Toshiba TXM5701S, SGI P/N 013-2154-001, the standard drive for mid-90s Indy and Indigo 2 systems. Uses a proprietary 3-pin mini-DIN power supply.
