Re: SGI Indigo, Warning: Power Failure Detected scrolling forever on install

THIS THREAD has some info on your "Power Failure" warning message. So at least make sure you have proper grounding on your sockets. Being pedantic: the Power supply for an R3000 Indigo 1 is an ITT PEC4044A and for an R4000 model it's an ITT PEC4044B. My replacement PEC4044B had a sticker ...

To Raion-Fox and Guardian452, please stay on topic or move to another thread (i can split it for you) and please refrain from making personal comments. I know both of you feel strongly about the subject of cars and automotive technology, which is absolutely fine. but i am not inclined to make a sepa...

Re: Galileo Indy Video

An ev1, very nice.

BTW, is that a 68-pin disk inside your indy? You could do with some more flat-cable management :)
And congratulations on the 200MHz R4400 CPU, you don't see those every day.

Re: Indy reboots upon attempted booting

If mounting or fsck-ing is not possible on that particular disk, your options are very limited: The only way to get data from it is dd that disk and hope your hexedit skills are good enough that you can repair the dd-image yourself, or extract the necessary license files and other info. /usr should ...

Re: How to play Audio CD's on an Indy ?

Playing Audio CD's with an Indy will only work with external Toshiba/Pioneer SCSI CDROM/DVDROM drives with specific firmware which support Audio-over-SCSI. See for instance viewtopic.php?t=16719432

I have updated the Wiki earlier to reflect this compatibility issue.

On behalf of one of my friends i am still looking out for a Sun 486i Apache

He says that there were several prototypes in the Netherlands and claims to have seen them, but they were recalled by Sun.

What an incredible amount of SGI stuff! Looks to include some OEM'd models of the Indigo and ChallengeS, very nice.

Even the Indigo R4K Badges for the Elan and Server, whoa!

Re: Cool (open source) software you would like to see ported...

How did it go with OpenSSL ? Did is there a new version for irix ready yet? Both Canavan and me have compiled and tested openSSL 1.0.2j/k succesfully. Unfortunately RealLife got in the way of me working a lot on SGI's, but most of the crap has left my head so i can focus on packaging this for both ...

Re: Irix 6.5.22 on R4000 Indigo Last MIPSPro version

Which 32 bit headers are you referring to? The o32 or the n32? If it doesn't install by default then it might be that there is a patch needed to make it install under 6.5.22 . The R4000 is finnicky in that there are several bugs which impacts performance. This also makes it really cool to try and te...
