Re: Archiver 0.1 - IRIX/IMD GUI for tar.

[It's a let's encrypt certificate (I'm cheap) and that might be the issue? Could be, but i can curl https://helloworld.letsencrypt.org/ but not the mercurial repo via https. I don't think the certificate is invalid, it's probably mercurial. If i supply '--insecure' to the https url, it works: hg cl...

Re: Archiver 0.1 - IRIX/IMD GUI for tar.

I don't have any myself, but I understand the Teac drives that SGI used have a plastic cog that tends to break/fall off. Yes, except they are Toshiba's, see http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16727779#p7360973 UPDATE: Public URL: https://mercurial.shangtai.net/repo/Archiver hg clone...

Congratz Jan-Jaap,
It has decent skins and feet. but also a horrible Barracuda.
I'm sure you have enough surplus disks so that you can replace it with a silent SCA drive with adapter.

The R4400@250MHz does not seem to have a CPU fan, so i'm wondering if its quieter than a R10K

A 250MHz R4400 is not bad. And with an SI, which means it should have the latest Rev12 PROM.

Re: Mini-PC fit in an SGI hard drive bay?

Do you need to unskin the Asus to make it fit? It has an inner steel or aluminium case so it could be done. It might also improve on the cooling.

Re: Indy and indigo2 emulation in MESS (WIP)

Yes, I know, I suggested it not because of R3000 support, but because of a better timing accuracy. While it's nice to be able to have a "run as fast as you can" mode (like QEMU does), it's even more important to be able to simulate the real speed of real hardware (like the CEN64 project d...

Re: Created docker for running an IRIX install server on your PC/laptop

Sounds sorta similar to the Vagrant setup I came up with a couple months ago to boot SGIs... but obviously I'm using Vagrant/Virtualbox instead of Docker. This is designed to Layer2-bridge onto your network so you can use RARP to boot installers on SGIs without having to type in IP addresses. https...

Re: Sync on green question

Before going the conversion device route, try this: If you have a spare old VGA cable, you can force Sync on Green by breaking off the separate H/V sync pins 13 and 14 on one end. YMMV and no guarantees, that why i suggest doing this on an old cable. I also have a 1907FP and could not reliably eithe...

Re: FS: O2000/onyx2 wheel base

Shipping to US depends greatly on the weight: if i keep the package below 5Kilos shipment will be 34.50 Euros, otherwise it will be 58 Euros and that's too expensive IMO. I will put you as reserve and await other offers. Jan-Jaap has offered Onyx2 rack systems recently, and this wheel base might be ...
