Not entirely. There's a bunch of "courtesy" licenses out there with HOSTID=ANY so that's the easiest way past the unethical practices of software companies.

Re: Softimage, Maya and licencing

I would like to clarify the nature of my question; I was not looking for ways to circumvent the protection schemes of the software packages Why not ? The entire "Imaginary Property" crap is nothing but propaganda and bullshit. Since the dawn of time, if you buy something you get to use it...

Credit where credit is due -- despite that rather devious article Murkowski and two other Republicans with ethics voted to reinstate net neutrality. Now it's up to the House, and if you guys in the US actually care about computing y'all better swamp those bastards in a tidal wave of outrage. Fucking...

And as far as Apple as a company versus everyone else that makes computer hardware, good luck finding anybody that doesn’t “exploit” their workers. It's entertaining to me how people who have never been within 10,000 miles of a chinese factory are so sure of how the poor workers are viciously explo...

Re: doomed - use! HTTPS Everywhere - google explained why

Maybe you've noticed the growing number of sites where the HTTP version simply redirects to the HTTPS version? I can't notice because, as a fireflop user, it's hidden ! Yay ! The essence of fireflop security is to hide everything. Trust them ! Mozilla Corp is our friend ! I really won't come in you...

... it seems that these devices although expensive, are fast (for its time) and extremely reliable. That wasn't my experience. Granted, it was a Tahiti and an Indigo but the icon showed up on the desk fine but the &^%$ thing never actually worked. Sorry that's not much help but the MO thing see...

As for Greece, hah! You're kidding right? Actually no, I'm not. Productivity figures for Greek people were better than Germany. The government, on the other hand .... the tax system was (still is) a mess, the state owned freakin' golf courses and hotels, the pension payouts were insanely high (unfu...

With all this talk of money and value, it made me think of the Venezuela situation ... You don't even need to go to Venezuela. Ask fu, somebody we know, about Greece. Greece, a NATO member and part of the European Union, with better productivity than Germany*, stomped on by the bankers. * Yes. That...
