Re: Show Off Your Home Office Setup & SGI Collection...

Sorry for the delay, been off chasing Scripts of Unusual Size in the Great Swamps of X. Lemme tell ya, them barstidges pack a mean bite ! Locked myself out of the Octane , my daily-use workstation , several times. I'll attach what I came up with, for those running at high-res. It's basic, needs a lo...

Nobody is interested in hearing your critique ... If you don't like the topic, then don't post. If you don't like the hobby nature of this forum, then please leave. Just for the record, the wannabe nazi from the netherlands does not speak for me. I do not believe he took a vote, so he can't say he ...

Re: Internals of the duel R14k CPU modules, upgrading modules by replacing CPUs

Jesus Christ. Can someone who has a clue please step in here ? It was COMMON to swap out the pre-300 mhz processors. Worked in both single and dual forms. But at 360 mhz SGI went to soldered processor chips, which are a bear to replace. Even with the O2 boards and soldering on new outta the box chip...

Re: PowerPC Macs - Are They Still Useful?

I can't stand this. What the fuck is wrong with you people ? "What can I do with a G5 ?" Well, you could spend thirty seconds with your favorite search engine and find several thousand programs that run great on a G5. You know, little-known ones like PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premi...

Adieux

Since this forum is apparently restricted to twelve-year-olds, it must be time to leave. I'm too old to restrict my discussion to what to wear to the school dance while the world is burning down. I wish you a happy Thanksgiving at the children's table.

Thanks to all, it's been fun.

I'm only going to put this here because I imagine most people who live in the US have no idea. I myself was shocked to just recently discover photos like these. This is what the US Air Force has done to all of Syria. This may have some relevance to the situation : syria.jpg To me, this is unbelievab...

Re: how to troubleshoot a "bus error" ?

I'd just redirect the compiler output to a text file, Too easy :P I'll try that next time, thanks ... Confirmation 1: xcircuit_3-8-78.jpg Confirmation 2: xcircuit_3-9-40.jpg Altho I am not overjoyed with the 3.9.40 .... first, it absolutely refuses to find xpm no matter what I do. Second, I had to ...

Re: Before I start tinkering, can someone confirm if...

Yes. It's very noisy. I think though putting anything in the lower cage will cause the fans to replicate a Harrier Jump Jet. At the moment, I have a FC-AL XIO card in the lower XIO section and the thing isn't that noisy overall. I have an Octane Compression in the lower left slot (looking from the ...

Re: how to troubleshoot a "bus error" ?

Found it (I think) but i need people to test this, since it's late and i have to bike home in the rain. Jeeze, dexter. I'm speechless. Thank you. I'll try this out in a few minutes. Also, I had this thought but didn't want to be a distraction, but those compiler warnings should be good clues. I als...

But maybe not in this case ... -F is fine but you still have to tell tcsh what color to apply to what filetypes ...
