Re: Maintaining Hardware / fesability of keeping hardware running

Unforunately this makes reversing super difficult as the best approach now becomes "remove all the parts and hand sand the entire pcb a layer at a time". Some folks in China can do this a little more cost effectively. You get a netlist at the end, but parts are still a problem. If you hav...

Don't get so excited :( This is just back to the original neko mplayer, except that it builds out of the box now. Never did before, for me :(

But ya gotta start somewhere, right ?

Re: Battery in Octane PVO card?

one thing to look for is that these boards might not be compatible with Vpro equipped octanes - in case you have one of these. I recall I had an octane compression board that caused kernel panics in such a system and it turned out that it did not play well at all with the Vpro board. Octane compres...

Re: mplayer 1.3.0

I don't think I ever posted a patch for the "beta" Mplayer I sent up. It's newer than what's in Neko maninline but probably older than current official Mplayer. LMK if you're still interested. I have to set the Octane back up but that's not a big deal. Like alot of people life (my first k...

Re: Announcing The IRIX Network

Hear, hear! Hear what? music? Yes, the Internet v2.0 added You-Tube. Hear, hear ! is a roar of approval from the peanut gallery :) It's what you shout as you pound your mug on the table, right before you all rush out into the street to gather the flaming torches and storm the castle .... But maybe ...

Re: Announcing The IRIX Network

Nowadays it's the Internet v2.0. Things do change. Things do change, and the condition worsened  Exactly. Which means people are even dumber to put any kind of personal information anywhere near the internet. We've had 10,000 breakins and hacks and millions of customer-data-leaks and faceblee...

Re: If there's something strange in your FW/400 ...

This doesn't look like Irix but for future searches, in Irix with firewire you must use 6.5.30 or you will have all kinds of strange behavior with disks. And I think there was stuff they never got into the overlay stream, too. Even at 6.5.30 my system would crash reliably on Sunday morning at 3:00 a...

Some useful info on compiling with the IRIX version of inttypes.h located here. Cool, thank you ... Okay le, back to the beginning, decided to start with the foundation instead of the roof and document the steps here in case someone in the far far future wants to play ... Downloaded the nekoware mp...

Re: mplayer 1.3.0

Years ago I used to compile my own version of mplayer .... So here's your opportunity to relive the past  Slight change in direction, definitely seems better to start with something that works and go from there so re-organizing the functioning neko mplayer as a starting point and putting that ...

Is this a custom made PC case or which machine is it?

One of those Boxx things, I think ... they painted some up and put their name on them I believe between their second and third bankruptcies.

Re: IBM T221 killed by incompetence - one more for packing stuff properly

Well, you've just invalidated all of your earlier arguments. I haven't invalidated anything, I've just proven that you can't read. At 200 dpi you are getting the same resolution as a laserjet printer. This is real-world physical media where it counts, something you can touch and hold and give to cu...

Re: IBM T221 killed by incompetence - one more for packing stuff properly

Hamei, there's more... I know. There's also color correction and 10-bit color and other stuff that's not well documented. But I didn't know it would sync up to 85 hz. Never tried. Cool :) So it doesn't need the external converter box. That's kind of nifty, since the converter boxes are hard to come...

Take a look at a Nekochan login in Wireshark: the password is RIGHT THERE. Who in the fuck cares !! It's a bloody forum where people gossip !
