Re: Looking for O2 R5000

:D Careful though, you might start a thing! "On our happy day, we were showered with O2 flakes! Blue SGI snow!". Hmm, I wonder if O2 skins are too large/complex to be replaced via 3D printed parts?

Re: Looking for O2 R5000

Shipping is actually not too bad because I use courier brokers (interparcel and parcel2go), and the converted cost isn't as harsh these days due to the currency shift since Brexit which does favour exports. It'd be 95 UKP to send an O2 to CA (UPS Express Saver), though I suppose that's still a lot c...

Re: TEZRO WANTED please

I'm moving back to an O2 because of the noise (think I'm getting old), but mopar is definitely the best person to ask atm if one is looking for a Tezro, his prices are great and his packaging is very good.

Re: Announcement - Fuel ATX PSU adapters available for purchase

TBH you're better off getting an adapter direct from kubatyszko, as I was going to be aiming mine more at commercial buyers (alas, bills to pay).

I forgot about this; will look at it again after the new year madness has subsided. :}

Re: how things should be shipped properly

Their packaging broke just about every rule; no padding, box far too small, wrong type of box (in more ways than one), no box edge reinforcement, etc.

Compare to how I do it:

Re: C-Ray FP/CPU Benchmark Test Results

Thanks for the extra info! Alas I don't have time for anything more than the web page, and that needs a rewrite. Leaving it until next year. Main thing I want to do is move the sphract test up to be the main test, the scene test is far too short. Btw, did you know Phoronix adopted c-ray as one of th...

Re: An item is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay... :)

I have a bunch of brochures and manuals for the old Fisker Karma, I wonder if they'll be worth anything someday :lol: I have a whole bunch of rare SGI manuals and books, leaving them for a while. Sometimes this sort of thing is very small scale but equally unexpected. I once bought a bunch of 68pin...

Re: C-Ray FP/CPU Benchmark Test Results

Good heavens, you're going to town with this one. :D Btw, the Mac Pro would be more optimal with 12 threads, 24, etc. What always amuses me about these results is the way those who initially appear shocked at the speed of newer systems fail to appreciate how comparatively well the SGIs are doing in ...

Re: C-Ray FP/CPU Benchmark Test Results

Thanks for the data! I'm tied up atm, will try and add the numbers to my site later this week. But bad news is that new Mac Pro is light years faster than 8 CPU Onyx 4. Sadly as it should be given the huge differences in time and tech between the two. :D I have some PCs which would just make the SGI...
