Re: Porting of openrw (Open Source Rewrite of the GTA3 engine) to IRIX

Is there no way to disable or fake the shaders? Sure it might end up like Garry's Mod with fullbright but the proof of concept would be cool. It depends on what the shaders are actually doing. If they are only/mostly implementing the equivalent features in the fixed function pipeline, then it shoul...

Re: Irix binary compatibility for Linux on MIPS64?

How much effort would it be to port the NetBSD/MIPS Irix compatibility Layer (Link: http://www.ukuug.org/masl/10 ) to Linux/MIPS? Has someone already tried that? If I believe this post and this linux kernel commit it looks like that irix binary compatibility support did exist at some point in time....

Happy ending for the D-Brick. It just got "local" pickup and will get a good home from a nekochan member.

Re: NoSQL

While I'm [still] an adherent of PostgreSQL - any experiences with those new databases? Are they available readily for Irix? Worth to try? Depends on what you call a "database" ;) From what I can recall, MongoDB relies mostly on boost (doable to bump the nekoware version I guess) and V8 (...

Free: TP9100 Dual RAID controller, 10 x 72Gb FC, Qlogic 2200

I have a TP9100 (aka D brick) available for free to a good home. It has the dual raid controller and is loaded with 10 x 72Gb FC disks.
It comes with a Qlogic 2200/66, copper GBIC and cable.

Available in Paris, obviously no shipping !

Re: 1920x1080 with NEC EA232WMi IPS monitor

My modified VFS is attached here: IR-NEC_EA232WMi_1920x1080_60.vfs.txt This vfs also works great with a iiyama prolite B2480HS. An alternative for dumping EDID on Mac OS : ioreg -lw0 -r -c "IODisplayConnect" -n "display0" -d 2 | grep IODisplayEDID Then you can feed the hex EDID ...

What a beauty :D (well, I prefer the cube style skins, but I'll make an exception for this one) It would deserve a proper desk, but at least it seems it has some great friends to play with. Is that a power line networking thingy we can see in the background ? It's probably a relief compared to burni...
