Does anybody know (i'm sure someone does)...

Which of the IBM tower servers had a black chassis, but included a red bottom front exhaust that was curved, in the same way that the Indigo2 feet are a curved exhaust? I've been poking through eBay and Google Image Search, but can't remember if it was a particular RS6000 server, or a pSeries of som...

Well, I can't speak directly for Neko obviously, but I was regurgitating from this post, here:

Re: Signature line computer icons.

I've added a couple non-SGI related items for my own personal enjoyment... but if anyone else has interest in using them, grab 'em! You can link to them against my server, but I won't make any promises about uptime, etc. http://www.falderal.net/gallery/nextstation_duckfoot.png - NeXTStation Mono Tur...

Backup 'copy' of Nekochan?

Is there an off-site backup of Nekochan.net with any of the other major site contributors in case something crazy-bad happens and Neko's stuff gets blowed-up or something?

Re: Downtime

Neko - thanks for everything you do. It is easy to take a site for granted... but then it goes down and you are thinking to yourself 'crap, I should have archived so many of those useful posts' because the first place our mind goes is not to network failure but to hardware failure, lightning strike,...

Re: Old Apple 22" ADC Display For Octane2

yeah ... actually that was file #7 ... I saved after each time I made any useful progress. Each of the 7 files was probably edited 2-10 times, recompiled, etc. So as you said, there is a lot of trial and error. I had read the man page for vfc... on the octane. It does not seem to be nearly as comple...

Re: Old Apple 22" ADC Display For Octane2

Okey dokey! Thanks for the input Recondas! Using your VFS, and modifying it to 'squeeze' the pixels as you mentioned, I finally (after many tries) got a perfect fit for the picture. It actually fits better than the display on my G5 Mac also connected to the display via KVM... so I can now use this i...

Re: Old Apple 22" ADC Display For Octane2

Hiho! So, the 60Hz VFO ~mostly~ works. Image displays and is useable. However, the picture does not fit on the display - the sides are cropped off, and I'm not sure but the bottom might be cropped. Meanwhile, the top of the picture does not reach the top of the screen. I believe at this point I need...

Re: Old Apple 22" ADC Display For Octane2

as a side-issue... I noted before that the display is tinted green suggesting some part of the whole thing is not SoG compatible (I wonder if it is the display... or maybe just the analog to digital converter box?). So I found that by adjusting the color channel gamma settings in the display propert...

Sorry for the silence here - I've been too sick to look at my computers. I'll be trying out these VFO attempts and let y'all know what happens.

Old Apple 22" ADC Display For Octane2

Hi folks. I've been working to get my old Apple 22" ADC (plastic bezel) Display working as _the_ display for my KVM'd machines, including my Octane2. When I first started this whole project I had no idea idea that the old ADC display would be such a PITA to use. But dang-it... it is just so pur...

Re: Deep Space Cable Dip Switch Setting?

Ok - looks like that was the ticket! For my system it was the H/V Sync dip-switch setting listed. Unfortunately my old display which works fine is not the new display I am ultimately intending to use... the old display does do SoG, but the new one does not, it appears... because the display is fairl...

Re: Deep Space Cable Dip Switch Setting?

Hey - that looks like the exact cable I have. I'll give it a try a little later. I'm not sure if the display is SoG or not, but it has worked fine in the past with my other adapters.
