Re: WTB : SGI compliant female 13W3 to male VGA cable (UPDATE : FOUND!)

Hi,

Was the monitor you plugged it into Sync on Green tolerant? Or does the cable take care of the SOG as per other adaptors you find on eBay?

I need one for a non SOG 27" HP monitor and see they sell in the UK as well.

Re: Octane2 .. hasn't run for ... quite a while..

if you happen to have one of those dell monitors with the full range of connectors and media card slots which were so popular a few years back (model numbers e.g. 2008WFP) around - those are certainly Octane/Vpro compatible. definitely with the V8. i don't think these cards were a particular headac...

Re: your latest purchase

A NAD 3020a stereo amplifier to go with my little Rega P1 turntable. After I De-dusted it, cleaned it out with a brush and compressed air, replaced a broken fuse holder it's back to working order and sounding sooo sweet.

Re: How can we encourage better group participation on this site?

I joined around 2007/2008, have always had in interest in SGI coming from a non-pc (mostly Amiga based) background. (SGI machines were so rare in South Africa where I grew up!!) I managed to buy an Octane 2 and O2 from Ian in Scotland, did some 3D stuff on it then life got in the way and had to sell...

Wanted - Octane in UK

As per title and my signature, looking for an Octane again for hobby project and good old Irix fiddling.

Happy to look at low spec, minimal budget. Will collect as long as the drive isn't much more than 3 hours from Taunton.

Please pm if you have something kicking about.

Re: WTB: Apple PowerBook G4 Titanium's motherboard, Wanted Dead or Alive

Pity, I put a maxed out one on the dumpster a few years ago after nobody took up an offer of 99p BIN on ebay :( The lcd had gone when the hinges snapped.

Good luck finding one.

If yours has the 030-1327-002 motherboard then you're in luck as these are quite rare.

If I hadn't blown £3000 restoring a vintage Vespa scooter I would have bought one of the 800Mhz Fuel specials he's got going! :D

I've only ever had good dealings with Ian.

Re: Irix Open Sourced

We need a decent browser. All the users of older hardware need a decent browser. This is the largest, most pressing need for anyone with slower hardware, yet we get Fireflop 3 and nothing but lies from the Fireflop group. There is no easter bunny :( I would argue we need a new internet! With...
