Re: Your favourite XKCD comic

Huh? Not sure what that site is about, the "no politics" is just so peops don't repost any strips with political content, that's all. Most of his aren't political based.

Your favourite XKCD comic

If you're a fan of Randall Munroe's XKCD comic strip post your favourites below. My wife bought me his What If? book as a small Christmas present and I thought I'd see if there are any other fans on here... (Please remember the forum rule here : no politics) Starting it off we have Tech Support, onl...

 Michalis Pastras (michaelpastras) wrote a very good "How To" guide explaining timings (with pictures!), EDIDs, compilation formats etc. Together with the write ups of Recordas we have the most excellent guides available. Have a look here -> http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.ph...

The VFC compiler requires the Vertical Backporch be reduced by 2 pixels, hence the reduction from 26 to 24. ;)

I may have an SI card, haven't recently tested it though. If it works you can have it for the cost of postage to the States. No xio carrier though...

Re: Stoopid Dell monitor

Well, a Dell 2407wfp should work at 1920x1200@60. Several users have them and it works well on my SSI at 1600x1200 (SSI won't do 1920x1200). It's SOG as well with a boatload of inputs. They are good PVA panels, I bought a second hand one for £50, like new. Have you tried compiling a VFO file for you...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

I have an HP EliteDisplay E241i for my Mac Pro, it simply will not display the image from the Octane properly. Colour is washed out and the image sits halfway across the panel. Picture halfway across the panel, usually it's because the display needs a VFO with certain reduced blanking values. I let...

Re: Octane arrived. Advice on small problem.

:) NP.

Intuition - I'm not sure the MXE will push anything beyond 1920x1050 / 1600x1200 so just bear this in mind. My SSI tops out with resolutions that generate a pixel clock of <160Mhz. Also, compiling VFO files on MGRAS is a pita!

Re: Have any one seen any good anime lately?

Not so much a series, but we watched Kaze tachinu (The Wind Rises) last night, thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm going to have to try Martian Successor Nadesico again, managed to stumble through the first disc then jumped onto something else.
