Re: FS: Octane/Octane2 parts/spares...

If I hadn't blown £3000 restoring a vintage Vespa scooter I would have bought one of the 800Mhz Fuel specials he's got going! :D

I've only ever had good dealings with Ian.

Re: Irix Open Sourced

We need a decent browser. All the users of older hardware need a decent browser. This is the largest, most pressing need for anyone with slower hardware, yet we get Fireflop 3 and nothing but lies from the Fireflop group. There is no easter bunny :( I would argue we need a new internet! With...

Each to their own... :D I loved mine...

Oh and well done on that collection, I'm very jealous!

So which system do you use most often?

Have you checked with Ian Mapleson? His stuff is very clean and reasonably priced.

Re: Anyone care for a spare...

So I've heard... And as an ignorant, off-the-cuff statement, I wonder if South Africa is better off now than 20 years ago...

As an ex-South African, and having my mother-in-law here from SA for a visit, the conclusive answer to that question is: No. (It's actually worse!) :(

Re: Wanted: Unwanted O2?

Still looking. Shipping from the States is a killer at about $125, without import taxes.

So I could throw a few pounds or euros in for an O2 (R5k, need two drive bays) as I have a bit of cash. But since i'm not after high spec CPU it probably not gonna be a lot of cash.

2 machines, 2 monitors, 1keyboard and mouse - no kvm

Right, topic says it pretty much. Would it be possible to run a Mac on one monitor, sgi machine on another monitor, but use 1 keyboard and mouse for control WITHOUT a KVM? I had hoped there was a bit of software that could be run on both machines and as soon as you mouse over from one screen to anot...

Re: Nekochan.net operating costs?

Yeah, it's more that some forum members have become nekonoko-hostile rather than IRIX, but point taken - there's still fun stuff to do on IRIX hardware. I've been trying to post up on the blog some of the stuff that's slipped through the cracks during the summer when temperatures precluded powering...
