Re: Show Off Your Home Office Setup & SGI Collection...

I got rid of all my computer-stuff years ago and therefore live vicariously through posts like these. I do practically everything on my phone, my wife has a laptop which we use for things that don't work well on mobile (mainly banking and the budget-spreadsheet). I sold my razer because I never used...

Re: What Apple hardware do we have?

sure you can get a more powerful machine for less in the PC world Ummmm you do realize that you are at an SGI-based website, correct? But the GPU in this machine is at least competent when it was new. I think the bigger issue was using two weaker units instead of one bigger chip, which made t...

Re: What Apple hardware do we have?

Mac Pro 2013 Trash can (currently in daily use) Do you like it? I was planning to get one to replace my 2006 mac pro, but because they were never updated, the resale prices never really dropped, I couldn't practically afford a new one, and the prices on ebay got more ridiculous every month (I mean,...

Re: Monitor suggestions for high-DPI experiment

I have office 365, haven't noticed this problem but I don't use 125%. What version of office are you using?

My windows version is 1703.

I have a 15" FHD laptop (w520) set to 100% and two 24" 4k set to 200% which I have connected to the docking station.

Re: Monitor suggestions for high-DPI experiment

Windows support is GREAT! Windows apps on the other hand, even fairly new releases since win 10 has come out, are a pathetic joke. Windows is just full of shovelware garbage, nothing microsoft can do to change that. MS software (office, etc) works well. If the program is old enough to not support hi...

Re: Monitor suggestions for high-DPI experiment

Does anyone have experience with AOC, some of their screens look impressive on paper? I know they've been around forever and sponsor some esports players but honestly all LCD displays look more-or-less the same to me anymore. Generic panel made by one of three big factories (Samsung, LG, ... uhhh ....

Re: Monitor suggestions for high-DPI experiment

I've been in the market for a new display o.0. What are the mounting options? Is it made by Viewsonic or rebadged? It's a re-badged IBM T221 according to wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_T220/T221_LCD_monitors However, according to our own hamei, there are slight differences. I don't se...

Re: Your Most Unbreakable Records in Sports History

Was a tech at a soccer camp for some HS kids (many years ago when in university). Well we were showing off for the kids and I said I could hit an exit sign more than halfway across the indoor field... totally nailed it even tho I was shooting for a different exit sign about 20' over another set of d...

Re: PowerPC notebook project fundraising

I find it curious that the fundraising is to hire a contract engineer. So much for 'labour of love' Also the details on the chassis seem sketchy. I like the thinkpad modders that replace the mainboard in an excellent machine such as the x62 project.. "mainstream odm"... is it even as good ...
