Re: MaXX is back!

I actually got DR3 working on Debian 8. It took some vododoo but it's stable and works great. I'll post a screenshot as soon as I am back on my geek laptop. Getting same results here with Fedora24. Focus is on getting a release of MaXX out ASAP so that we can focus on moving forward. Will be postin...

Re: MaXX is back!

Eric, I have a couple decades experience with C, C++ and Motif and would be happy to help. Presumably you have the source code to Viewkit as well? Are you using, or did SGI use RapidApp/BXPro for their development? I have BXPro 5-something on my Linux box and on my SGIs, and RapidApp on my SGIs... ...

he's baaaaaack! Sorry for the lack of updates. My health has been up and down for quite a while, but I think we've figured it out :) Updates: 1) HP acquired SGI... Not far away from my own IRIX-Desktop. I like the clean window-edges.

very cool... I don't see why 5Dwm shouldn't run on IRIX ;)

Re: MaXX Desktop Modern Look and Feel Preview

I think they both look good, but then I've never been noted for my aesthetic sensibilities... Is that a hack of the MWM iconbox widget? After maxx stopped working on Slackware I went back to MWM from the 2.1.30 distribution, been using it ever since. A Luddite, I know... not a hack!...

what's left are the wrong button and slider colors and the slider handles are too thin.

don't worry about those... It's more me playing around with different variation of colors and thickness. 8-)

Re: MaXX Desktop Modern Look and Feel Preview

(Serious constructive feedback: the rounded borders on the icons and window switcher don't gel at all with the rest of it. I know that look is the default on most modern WMs for some damn reason, but as long as you're doing this, may as well make everything aesthetically consistent.) excellent poin...

MaXX Desktop Modern Look and Feel Preview

Hello all :) Here's a preview of what I am working on. The new SGI Motif 2.3.4 modern look and feel start to take shape (used in the Keyboard Preferences app). Also experimenting with border thickness and anti-aliasing fonts which are all user-settable, btw ;) Got to run... Would love constructive f...
