I've posted about this before but what the hay, this time I'll just upload the image: An Indy used to track radiosondes (weather balloons) at Kwajalein, aka the Reagan Test Site aka the Pacific Missile Test Range:

Re: My first Octane

I never got mopar's bootable drive. I"ll double check the terminators. But even if its not bootable, it should spin up right? Not necessarily; some SCSI disks have a jumper setting that disables auto-spinup, what kind of disks are you using? If the disks are empty, at power on they will most l...

Re: Octane2 keyboard and mouse

I've never used an SGI without an SGI branded keyboard and mouse (sacrilege! heresy!) but yeah, it's just standard PS/2 stuff they bought from vendors like NMB. :)

Re: Things to buy....

Yeah, looks like the 1.2 version was ported to OSS, which I don't think anybody uses anymore, I think I have an earlier version IRIX binary stashed on my Sun at work (heresy, I know ;) ), I'll check when I drag myself in in the morning... Hey Vishnu, did you have any joy? I didn't have my old IRIX ...

Re: Octane PCI Card Cage?

013-2304-003 is definitely the Octane card cage, and dust is definitely one of the worst enemies of Octane connectors, congrats on getting it going! :D

Re: HP-UX compilers

It's odd that there's almost no discussion about them in the community.hpe.com forums, either HP has developed them to the point where they work really well (re. Classic's post) or nobody's using them.
