Don't worry about this, nobody uses git right.

Or, there is no "right" way to use git...

A venerable VIC 20 !! Tis a thing of beauty! :D I never bought a personal computer back in those days because we had a ton of CP/M machines running off 8-inch floppies in six-foot-tall 19-inch racks, and I thought "how can tiny little things like that be a real computer?" :?: Yet more irr...

Sweet, thanks! Up to this point I've always used TkZip as my default gui zipped archive creator/extractor, but the source repository at woodsway.com has gone off line. If anybody wants it it looks to be available here (works great on IRIX): https://fossies.org/linux/misc/old/TkZip-1.1.7.tar.gz

Re: Has anybody tried building FFmpeg recently?

You can change your default shell in your ~/.profile, that's how I change mine to bash on my SGIs and Suns. I have built ffmpeg on my Slackware box many times (Slack didn't used to include it, I think it does now as part of the electricsheep package, not too sure about that). praetor242 were you abl...

Re: IRIX Source code

You guys are awesome! I've submitted exactly one patch to the Linux kernel, to the hwmon code to fix a call to a deprecated function. Extremely trivial patch that worked perfectly, it removed the call to the deprecated function and replaced it with a call to the function that replaced the deprecated...

Re: Archiver 0.1 - IRIX/IMD GUI for tar.

For what it's worth (not much), this is what I've got so far for subclassing VkSubProcess, I can instantiate an object of the derived class but the compiler's telling me it doesn't have a create() function, which according to the manpage it should have. Not helpful but here it is (note call to creat...
