Re: Octane PCI Card Cage?

013-2304-003 is definitely the Octane card cage, and dust is definitely one of the worst enemies of Octane connectors, congrats on getting it going! :D

Re: Getting irix onto indigo2 r10k

Fairly extensive discussion on burning IRIX CD images in this thread (by way of disclaimer I've never actually burned any myself):

Hopefully Power keeps hangin' in there. And AMD has had Intel doing the headless chicken a few times over the years, maybe they can pull another rabbit out of the hat... :|

Re: HP-UX compilers

It's odd that there's almost no discussion about them in the community.hpe.com forums, either HP has developed them to the point where they work really well (re. Classic's post) or nobody's using them.

I dunno, it doesn't look bad... 8-)

Re: HP-UX compilers

Ah yes! I see it now, HP's store is selling licenses for considerably less than their partners:

Re: your latest purchase

I've got two main obstacles with mine...one much bigger than the other. For starters, I've got no hard disk. That's kind of a major issue. I've got the hard disk that came with mine originally, it's tiny but you can have it if you want it. It's probably fine, it's been in temperature and humidity c...

Re: HP-UX compilers

They've discontinued the product? The user manual is still online, most recent update looks to be March 2016: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05054285 So they spend millions of dollars dumping gcc to develop their own compiler, then eh, just pull it.

These guys claim to have it, but I'd take that claim with a very sizeable grain of salt:

Easy way to tell who's trying to phone home, run iptraf on your firewall:

Of course, if there's a secret wireless phone home device in the thing you'll have to build a tinfoil hat for it... 8-)

Re: Octane no power?

Presumably this is the Lucent power supply? There's a used one on ebay ATM for 39 dollars, which is about as cheap as you'll ever find one...
