Re: ata100 vs nfs

Yeah, I don't think I'll need much more than the ata100 bus. I got the g4 / monitor for a very good price. The only reasons I'd be using it is just to have a mac desktop and for osx coding / porting. Just thought I'd look into increasing the speed because I like upgrading things, lol.

Re: ata100 vs nfs

Ok. Thanks for the info. I will leave the ata drive in for now. Maybe I will come across a compatible pci-x card for sata or scsi.

ata100 vs nfs

Hi. I've just aquired a dual 867mhz g4 (mirrored doors). It seems to have ata100 as its fastest disk speed. But it does have gigabit networking. So my question is, should I boot from the internal ata100 drive and nfs everything else (on a gigabit network)? Will I get a performance gain? I don't real...

asante en / sc

I have one of these for sale. Googling around seems to show it to be a network interface riding on the scsi bus. I believe these were used with apple computers that didn't have a supplied network interface. Unfortunately, I do not have the power adapter for this, its a standard round plug. (first go...

Re: Sun Blade 1000 won't boot - battery?

This is probably not the problem, but when i was playing around with my sunblade, the case had to be closed before the system did anything.. was scrathing my head with an open case not working.

various items for sale (sun, pci-X)

I have a sun ultra1 for sale. It includes a cdrom drive. The cpu is 167mhz with 192mb ram (4 slots still available). I have 2 video cards for it (both 13w3). One is labelled 'SunGX' on the big chip. The other is LIA9765. Your choice. I will also throw in a qlogic card labelled 'wide scsi single ende...

Re: scsi high voltage differential drive

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to fit 2 full height drives in it, thanks anyhow.

I think I will just save my pennies and get another hp-ux machine.

Re: scsi high voltage differential drive

Ok, I've looked around and these converters are much more than I want to put into this system.
I'll continue using the 3 x 2gb hvd drives currently in it.
Thanks for the reply SAQ.

scsi high voltage differential drive

Looking for one >= 9gb for my hp c180 workstation.
Tried ebay, searching for 'hvd' and 'high voltage' but didn't get many hits.

I'll pay up to $25 CAD (this includes shipping) if anyone has one for sale.

running an u160 scsi drive on an u320 controller

If I put an ultra160 scsi drive on a channel on an ultra320 controller, will this cause all disks to operate at ultra160, or will my u320 disks still run at their maximum speeds? EDIT: for what its worth, its an ibm serveraid pci-X card, unsure of the model, since its in a system. If needed, I could...

Re: 7028-6E1 display

If you have a pc with a serial port, you can connect to the ibm's serial port with a null-modem cable and use your favourite terminal emulator.
