Re: I'm out (almost)

Ohh. One of them was dark grey. I didn't think of that. Maybe I have to come by again :D
I have plenty of granite ones though.

Re: WTB: Origin 350 for graphics mod

Thank you guys I actually have a G-brick in my Onyx2 which I bought a KTOWN2 for and tested with the O300. It was cool, but I didn't want to swap back and forth so I bought a second Onyx2 :-) However my O300 is in a short rack and I didn't like the looks of having a skinless G-brick on top of that. ...

WTB: Origin 350 for graphics mod

Hi, I'm interested in buying an Origin 350 to put V10 graphics into. These type of machines must still be in use, because they don't turn up on, for example, eBay. I have only seen parts, not whole machines. Because of shipping a seller in Europe is preferred, but maybe one "little" O350 i...

Re: Onyx2 dual pipe graphics module with DPLEX

Thank you for the replies.

I can't imagine the software I was thinking of is modified to make use of DPLEX.
I will have to settle with the speedup from my previous IR2 to IR2E :-)

Onyx2 dual pipe graphics module with DPLEX

Hi, I just got my hands on an Onyx2 graphics module with two pipes and DPLEX option boards. I was thinking of running some old CAD benchmark just for the fun of it, so I wonder if DPLEX be used to accelerate OpenGL or is it mainly for video manipulation? When I looked around for information I came a...

Re: Compare firmware Symbios SYM8750SP

Bought a SYM8750SP on eBay today. Same firmware version as my older cards according to the stickers. The sticker says 4.11 on my card and 4.11.00 on eBay card. I hope it means the same. It is version 4.16.00 on my newer card, but I can't find anything older than 4.19.00 on LSI homepage. The waybackm...

Heavily upgraded Indigo2

When I was going through some of my Indigo2s I found some interesting stickers on the side of the machine. This one have been through a lot of upgrades. CMNB007Y87 = R4400@175 CMNB007Y100 = R4400@200 CMNB007Y125 = R4400@250 CMNB007UF195 = R10000@195 I forgot to check the back of the machine to see w...

Re: Compare firmware Symbios SYM8750SP

Thank you for your suggestions. I have downloaded the pcitree software and found a firmware update tool. I had only looked for firmware update for the oldest SYM cards since I already have them, but it turned out they are now calling them LSI8750. When I changed my search from SYM or SYMBIOS to LSI,...

Compare firmware Symbios SYM8750SP

Hi, I wonder if anyone here knows the best (easiest) way to compare firmware from two Symbios SYM8750SP SCSI cards. I haven't found any special firmware software on LSI homepage. Is there a way to do this with Linux or something? I have two of these sitting in a milling machine with a PC based contr...

Re: Using a CF or SD card in an Indigo?

If you can't get a true Indigo keyboard, I think you need an adapter like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/SGI-Indigo-Onyx-PS-2-keyboard-mouse-converter-/151519708130?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23474743e2 This converts standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse for Indigo use. Incorrect keyboard and mouse...

Re: CAD software on irix

I have run ProEngineer from release 20 up to Wildfire 2 on SGI hardware, but not for real work, just playing around. We have ProE at work and can use that license when I'm not using it for work. It was mostly for running benchmark and compare to Windows. Windows usually winning :? Wildfire 2 is the ...

Re: c-ray on Itanium. Prism and Altix. gcc vs icc

Ohh, reading the manuals. I was hoping to avoid that ;) I did read some of the docs regarding optimization, but there is of course a lot more docs. I was mostly reading about the -O1/2/3/s parameter and -xhost. I also found and sourced some of the scripts to get the paths to the compiler set, but I ...

c-ray on Itanium. Prism and Altix. gcc vs icc

I thought c-ray should be a nice test of the performance of my Altix so I decided to try that. Fortunately I have a Prism also to 'develop' stuff on before I try it on the Altix. This is the Prism Prism 2x1600Mhz (Madison) SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP1 ia64. Linux 2.6.32.12 gcc 4.3.4 included in the ...
